The Old Folks Home

Yes, Chickisoup, I do very much understand. I spent the last three days upset about Bud. He was just such a funny boy, following me around and pecking me on the leg or tugging on my pants leg for treats. He'd always been a runt, always not thriving, always prone to infections and never gaining weight. Still he loved to chase the hens and could bite like a demon when he wanted to. I was glad this morning to find that he had passed in his sleep. He hadn't even thrashed around like they always do. Just very peaceful. I told DH that was what went hardest on me. When they were suffering and I had to intervene. Just remember, the last gift of love we can give our animals is letting them go with dignity.

Concerning your BIL. That is really tough. We have a good friend with COPD. It's just a no win scenario and a second friend who is slowly fading away thanks to Parkinson's disease and dementia who's brother is suffering from bone marrow failure secondary to cancer treatment he underwent years ago. I told our friend's wife the other day to make sure her husband got to spend a lot of time with his brother while he still could. So sad. That family is really being hit by a runaway train. You are right. Get your husband to see his brother while there is still time.

Prayers sent.:hugs
