The Old Folks Home

Too hot here to sleep. It was 98 when I left work yesterday. One more day of this crap.

Still miserable hot here too. We only hit 90o yesterday but super sticky. At least the severe storms missed us last night. Clobbered the folks to our south instead. Still lots of folks out of power from the weekend. The power crews just can't keep up with it. We could get hit again tonight and better chance tomorrow (in the severe watch area again, sigh) but then it's finally supposed to move on.

My chickies are on their way! Supposedly left the USPS Destination Site late last night (yea right, it was located in Minn.) but at least they are on the move!!!! :fl

Looks like you and I are going to get doused!
yep, sigh. Here we go again. Another heavy rain last night, new line forming to our southwest right now, bigger one supposed to move in overnight and then clobbered with the severe stuff again tomorrow. Can't even prime the inside new wood in 100% humidity. We are NEVER going to get this coop expansion finished!

Penny I am so sorry for you loss.

I had been having dizzy spells before the Dr. cleared a stint and put in 3 more. No more dizzy spells. Be careful. :hugs
Wow, chicka! Glad to hear you are ok now. Penny, please be careful!!! Dizzy spells not funny (been there). Totally hear you on the waiting room. I've had to walk out on dr appointments recently for the same reasons. Again, please take care ok?

I couldn't go to bed...just doing stuff and I wanted to let the flock out early so I stayed here and let them out at 5:30. The rain's supposed to get here about 9:30-10am. I fed and watered everyone last night so they'd be done in case it started by sunrise. I'm happy it hasn't gotten here yet. :fl I am liking the cool temps...it got down to 13 last night. It's cold her this morning.:wee

Thanks Chicki and Wicked. I do feel much better than last year for sure much more energy. Can't imagine why. :lau

My garden is growing like crazy I have squash, okra, eggplant, Purple Cherokee tomatoes, watermelon and cantaloupe, lettuce, radishes, evergreen cabbage, my sugar baby pumpkins are up about 6", basil, rosemary, oregano, and lavender. My Elderberries are now over 3'. My Pomegranate is not growing nearly as fast as I would like it to.
I guess I will add some 20-20-20 to it and hope it leaps up.
We also have rain back in all this week.
I am going to make up so Hickory syrup this week. :drool Dh said he's ready for some more.
I wish I had some pecans for some syrup. But I will this fall. :wee

93 yesterday here, 96 for eight hrs at work. I don't miss the cold and snow.
My gardens looking good also.
Two hugemongous disappointments though. The Pepitas hybrid pumpkin with hulless seeds and the Sweet meat winter squash, nothing, zero germination started early in containers or just awhile ago direct in garden. Every thing else came up, even stuff I planted a few days ago.

Beer I had a few that would not come up with no sunshine. I re-planted and they are up now. :)

I planted these seeds that Arielle sent me a few years ago and they were labeled Lemon Squash. However I cannot tell if they are patty pan or scalloped squash. lol And I am not sure when I should pick them. Can anyone help please?
