The Old Folks Home

I don't know how you all get up at 4 am to do chicken chores.
Even when I had 200+ or - birds I did not do chicken chores till 6-7. Except
chicks or poult's I had in the house they got tended to earlier. I guess retirement has gotten the best of me.
Yesterday morning I made my dh a Fathers Day breakfast. Biscuits and sausage gravy from scratch with fried eggs and sausage. Because today I had to do so much prep for his Fathers Day dinner today.
I did make some cream cheese blueberry muffins for breakfast this morning.
I added some of our fresh blueberries.View attachment 1046185 View attachment 1046184
I don't know how SCG does it either! :th Those muffins are still killing me.:drool
Wow hope she did go to sleep.. going to make muffins here buy my cream cheese at at Costco major package lets me kinda play around allot
Oh gosh no. There's no rest for the wicked.;) gig.gif

I just got chicken thighs and baked potatoes in for dinner. Got in a little after 11am and I needed to eat breakfast. Five hours dusting...ugh. I must've picked up the 3 birds that showed something the other day. There were only 10ish birds that showed any signs. Also noticed that it looks like I have a few molting?? The black hen has all the feathers off of her underside. She doesn't set and there's no sign of redness, irritation or bugs. idunno.gif Just nice clean skin.

But it does look like cleaning the coop and taking the eggs upset the broody hens.:yesss:

By the time I had grabbed my camera the ducks had abandoned the sprinkler and are having a preen fest. I let the Easter littles out today, they've been locked up till they learn that the big coop is their new home. Peter Pan is keeping an eye on them. He's the best babysitter.

Thanks everyone. I made the little jar lid pies out of the rest of the crust I had left.
I've got an hour to get the cornbread muffins and fried green tomatoes done. The ribs and casserole should be done by then. Dh said I'm cooking to much food. :lau
I guess I usually do. But heck we can have lunch tomorrow and supper again.
Aww the method to my madness shows it's face.
I would also love to see Maddie playing in the sprinkler with her ducks. Awweee :love:love

Yum...I do alot of cast iron cooking. We're a large family so when I do lasagna its usually in my large Dutch oven on the woodstove in the winter.lol

All this talk of all this gowlod food today is sure making this old man hungry. I'm gonna have to start figuring out the lesser of two evils. Learning how to cook or finding me an old woman. :)
Lol...These days might be easier to learn to cook. ;)
