Yea, but we survived and here I am a mountain girl on a small farm. I do love it.

I love Tennessee. Not some of the people so much, but it's a beautiful state.

I'm about to beat my cat. She loves my chickens, especially the chicks. If they get to cheeping too much, she will come get me, so I can check on them. The brooder is in the breakfast nook, on the other side of my kitchen. I have tile floors, and was concerned the flooring might make the bottom of the brooder too cool, so I put a towel under the brooder box.

The cat discovered she can claw the towel, and pull it, and the brooder box comes too. When she wanted out on the patio, she tried dragging the brooder box out with her. I scolded her. Later, when she was ready to go take a nap, she tried dragging the brooder box to the bedroom. She doesn't understand that they have to be under the heat lamp. I finally put a couple bricks on the towel, so it's too heavy for her to drag. She's spending time napping in the breakfast nook, but she's not happy about it.

Dh keeps saying he thinks 2 of the chicks are boys, and 2 are girls. I just nod, and smile. I think I have 3 boys, 1 girl. I'm not telling him that.

Wow!!! That is amazing! How did you do that? How long does it take? Would it be really inconvenient to finish it?

SCG...I love all the work you do with the cemeteries. I have some ansestors up that way..but a little south of you. Revolutionary war even
..but a few years after the Mayflower.

So New Hampshore, Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut, not further north. But when the Ohio River valley opened up for settlement they all ran west....and kept running, then hooked a left and went south to Texas.

Ok...some of the Graves that my kid has been drug to this trip...my uncle has been doing a bang up job keeping our Graves in Brenham in shape...but I need to find someone in New Braunfels to fix those. ..

That one about to fall over...I think I better call next week...don't want it to break.

I'm glad you are dragging the kids to these and that you got pictures and will call someone to help fix it before it's worse. I haven't seen graves like that with the white rocks (?) over it in this area (or even the mid-atlantic where I'm from). What's the significance of that?

I have seen pics of people letting their animals foster chicks to tend.

Deb you seriously need to try some fried green tomatoes! They are the bomb!
So is fried okra! We like to eat it like popcorn after supper to snack on.
If we ever have any left dh takes it to work for a snack.

I am working on his torso already. its an interesting process and one I realllly enjoy.

We are southern but from all over.... Oklahoma and colorado My Moms side... Florida and Texas On my dads side. Dad Taught my mom to cook. He learned from watching His mom, grandma Dixon. Grandma Dixon used to cook lunch for the field hands.

Your welcome. I can never make enough of it. I use a large pot and put at least 4" of oil in it to deep fry mine. I use a mixture of 1/2 flour and 1/2 corn meal and just salt it when it comes out of the oil. I usually make a 1/2 lb at a time or so.

I also have family from Oklahoma and Colorado. Some family also from Texas but my lines migrated from Alabama. A mixture of Southern and Northern foods for us. As my mom was from Minnesota and her family was Irish and Scandinavian.

Wow we should compare some genealogy maybe some links. lol
