The Old Folks Home

I missed a lot the last couple days... Pigs & pumpkins, two of my favorite things! :love

The construction crew down the street took out our internet cable a couple days ago, no tv, no internet, no landline. Luckily AT&T jumped right on it & worked into the night to get it up again.

DH is scrapping the popcorn acoustic off my kitchen ceiling this weekend. Its hot, but he's trying to get it done before the heat really starts to hammer us in August & September.

Pretty avatar Cap... Is that a pet?
It was, i had 4 pairs of different species of chameleons.

So sad about donrae. Hopefully her passing was a peaceful one. One breath in this life and the next in Heaven. Comforting thoughts and prayers to her family, friends and loved ones. Rest in peace.

SGC. I read that tombstone and had a catch in my throat. Am I reading that right? 12 years old and dying in 1816? I oft times find myself in old cemeteries standing and staring at tombstones such as this one, wondering what life was like for the person who's name is on the stone and trying to visualize it in my mind. I also find myself wondering if what killed them then wouldn't have been curable today?

What killed a 12 year old? Accident? Infection? Flu? Appendicitis?
Would he or she have survived their illness today?

I truly admire you and your husband's work.

Thanks Wicked. Nice seeing you pop in! Don't be a stranger!

Checked my broody this morning. 4 out of 7 hatched with one zipping. Two not doing anything. One is the egg with the air cell at the top of the egg instead of the bottom and the other I thought may have quit somewhere mid gestation. Momma is a little nervous but otherwise doing well for a first time broody. She doesn't seem to like the little ones moving around under her too much but in the next instant is calling to them and dropping down tiny bites of mash for them. I think she's going to do fine.
