I'm still alive and....well somewhat kicking. Seems that I have the Meneires under control for the time being. The crickets are very quiet right now and my balance is greatly improved......but I am not gonna fool myself, I know what the inevitable is but that could be 20 to 30 years from now. So I have decided to learn to play a stringed instrument(guitar and/or banjo) while I can still hear.

I have also been busy logging .....in 95+ degree heat. I have gotten used to it but my equipment doesn't like the high temperature. So far we have harvested live oak, post oak, cedar elm and a medium american elm. All pecan trees are off limits on the property. At least until full maturity....which is about twenty years from now.

I am now gonna try to catch up on all the post now......

I am learning to fix breaks!

Two of the 2.5 projects that I dug up yesterday.

Dug them up, got them cleaned off. The first stone is 1794 (they used f's as s's which was the norm for that time period... the name is Ifaac Keen), the second is 1830's I think, with 3 names on it - Dad and 2 kids. Both stones got a nice new, deep hole dug for stablity, and the second one I already sunk down real deep, leveled and infilled, ready to epoxy and set the top back on it today. The third thing I started to dig up with a new friend ended up having a concrete hell in the ground about 18 inches down holding the rest of the broken tablet hostage. It was pouring then, and I was covered in mud, so no pictures. Today we get to expand that hole and try to get that puppy out of there, chisel it off and then epoxy.

A good crispy 40o F morning to all View media item 7892551That should shut the tomatoes down for a day or two, darn. Just being lazy until it warms up enough to let the littles out of the coop. They just turned 5 weeks and not quite fully feathered yet so a very wet, 40o grassy run is a bit too much for my spoiled babies so they are suffering in their brand new large fully equipped brooder and being forced to eat the most expensive chick starter Nutrena makes and hunt in the fresh hay for their mealworms treat to keep them busy till it warms up a bit more. Poor little birds.

One Fall when I was in High School, My cousins and I were allowed to cut down oak trees to sell as firewood. On the same property, very old and large black walnut trees were being logged. The wood was going to Japan to become stock for shotguns and etc.

today was lock down took the turner out and they are on their their own brought humidity up from 45 to 60 for hatch hova bator 2366? good unit left them sit on counter as shipped eggs did not turn the turner on for 1 1/2 days all air sacks looked great guess we will see
