The Old Folks Home

Having trouble selling my Siamese kittens. People don't want to pay anything for them. Drives me crazy. 20170817_235747.jpg

Lost my cukes I planted in barrels early. Did get quite a few cukes for fresh eating but then all the sudden died, not sure why, would cucumber beatles do that? I did see some but didn't think it was a big deal.
I did start after ripping up our peas about another 30' row of cukes but they are not even flowing yet. Hope they hurry up, I made gallons of pickles last yr and want to again this yr.

Theres nothing better than homemade pickles! I only got a couple batches done this year & we've already eaten them. I musta put more garlic & peppercorns in them than normal because they were super spicy. :drool

don't breed nothing no more not in the game more people think they are all disposable like oh new job don't have time or boyfriend doesn't like it any excuse they dump em

That's the story of one of my pugs. Young girl driving down the street saw a neighbor selling puppies in her yard. She thought they were cute & brought one home to her BF's house. Broke up with BF & left the dog at his house. Ex-BF didn't want the dog to begin with, tolerated it for a while than made her come get it. She pawned it off on her mother for a few months, but mom already had a few dogs & couldn't keep him permanently. Eventually girl took him to a new BF's house. They both worked full time every day & liked to go out almost every night. They installed him a doggy door, put a big bowl of food out everyday & basically left him. After a while the new BF couldn't deal with the pugs 'quirks' & put him up for adoption. I stumbled upon him by accident (or divine intervention?) I called the guy, told him I didn't have any $$ but that I had 3 kids, 2 other pugs & an enormous amount of love & time to give the dog. He agreed to let us have him for free, but wanted us to know in advance all the horrible things wrong with a pug...
Him: He sheds.
Me: Yep. He's a dog. They shed.
Him: But he snores... LOUD.
Me: Yep he's a pug. That's what they do.
Him: He's got goo coming out of his eyes.
Me: He just needs his face wiped with a tissue in the morning.
The kids & I drove 7hrs out to AZ a couple days later to pick up this poor dog. He was an emotional wreck. Never seen a dog toy, never had his face wiped... For the first few months every time someone would come to visit he'd get all depressed like we were getting rid of him. It took him almost a year, but he finally relaxed into his forever home & started acting like a normal dog. We named him Fang, but we mostly call him Monkey. I love that funny little Monkey. :love
