The Old Folks Home

@Latestarter I could not agree with you more there and we are guilty of Wendy's from time to time or Taco Time the fast food joint with the highest prices thankfully most often we have a Costco foot long or polish dog and a drink 1.50

Completely off topic but Wendy's has been advertising their double sized junior bacon cheeseburger and it just looks so good on TV that I decided to head out to get one today. Problem one; the nearest Wendy's is 50 miles away (80% highway). Problem two; no matter how good it looks, it's still a chain burger, and not worth 100 miles driving which equates to ~$20 in gas on top of the burger cost, not to mention ~3 hours time invested. I came to my senses...

So, I needed some groceries and diverted to McDonald's and got their pick 2 for 5 bucks; a big mac & quarter pounder with cheese, followed by grocery shopping virtually next door at wally world. (The Wendy's burger WOULD have been better tasting) All completed in under an hour, maybe $4 in gas, and later I expect I'll have gas... fast food quality is not what it once was, not that it's ever been all that great... But, as they say in the US Navy (referring to Navy chow)... it'll make a turd... :duc:oops::rolleyes:

They ought to make advertising drugs illegal, like they did for advertising cigarettes. For some, food is a drug  Besides, I think the US is one of only a couple of countries that allow pharma advertising to the public. Can you imagine TV without food or Pharma ads? Wow... a 30 minute show might actually be more than 15 minutes long :duc
:goodpost:

Yes, food is like a drug to some.

Wendys has senior drinks if you ask for them.

I don't if the Arby's chain is wide spread. But we often go there for lunch after a movie. They always have coupons ie, 2 beef sanwiches for $ 5.50. potatoes cakes or curly fries $ 1. and senior drinks 50 cents. Problem in our area if that there is a 1 cent per ounce tax on soft drinks, diet or reg., juice that isn't 100% juice. But the senior pop is only about 10 ounces for another 10 cents in tax is okay for me. Plus I can still refill it gratis.

Arby's has added alot of new items and even half pound and full pound sandwiches, no thanks - too much $$$ and too much weight gain. They have coupons for several different items. But that's us. I know the beef will always taste the same.GOOD!! At other fast food places, I've found alot of variation which is usually for the wrost.

I like the beef sandwiches and their french dip is pretty tolerable
