I have a couple of family members, both now deceased, that were manic depressive--talk about a challenge!

I have a daughter that is bipolar. Can be difficult on everyone.

Lithium helped them quite a bit. Luckly My siblings and I have dodged that bullet. My Grand, Father on my Mom's side and one Aunts kids have problems. There seems to be a genetic component to it

Yep sure is on the genetic predisposition of bipolar disease. Had a neighbor once who's son was diagnosed as having a very high degree of ADHD. Only he would never respond to any medication they tried on him. Changed custodial facilities who ordered new testing. Turned out the boy had bipolar disorder and had been undiagnosed, untreated for most of his life. Grandma told me, that made more sense to the family as there was a familiar predisposition to manic depression. I guess once they got him medicated he did a pretty decent turn around.

Congrats on the new future puppy, @superchemicalgirl! I love the name Zeus! Always reminds me of the two Dobies from Magnum PI, Zeus and Apollo!

I agree. I think that may be why my mother moved us around so much our entire lives. Every month we moved mostly in Cali. but sometimes to Minnesota then back again.

Zeus is far easier on the tongue than Yahweh or Jehovah. I'm pretty sure my dog thinks her name is "Stop that"

My Grand Father would buy stuff while manic and the get depressed and not sell it. Next time he would go manic, he had lost interest in the most recent stuff and buy different stuff.

One summer My Brother cousins and I made some money salvaging the old purchases--lots of metal and even an old Semi cab! I got a lot of practice using a cutting torch

Thanks! This morning I started pizza dough. I have starter dryng to mail out next week and am about to start lavender shortbread cookies.
