The leaves are falling like crazy now and there are places where we can see through the timber and undergrowth. DH and Ijust got back from a walk back in the woods. Definitely my favorite time to enjoy the great outdoors. We are still mowing here but at least we aren't dying from the heat while we are doing it. The chickens enjoy the cooler weather, even the ones molting would rather be outside then inside. I've offered to make them little sweaters but so far, no takers. Considering my sewing skills, they probably are using good sense.

Not so may leaves yet...I do have some feathers falling though. One of the Pita Pintas is molting!

I only have 8 of age to lay and darn if 5 of them are in molt true to EE I get just 1 to 3 a day till I have EE laying and ameracauna start

I am way behind and trying hard to catch up. Ron thanks for making the struessel with vanilla ice cream in my honor. I'm sure it tasted great.

SCG Christmas is the perfect time to get a puppy except of course for the deep snow, sleet, hail,strong winds and bitter cold.

My standard sized birds are in full molt and really looking raggedy right now. Poor babies, they look like they are having the ultimate bad hair day. Old feathers sticking out at funny angles, bald patches, pin feathers coming in. The roosters seem to have started molt about 2 months ago and are now just getting serious about it. The hens seem to be doing it all at once, dropping feathers everywhere and growing in new ones. Poor babies.

My young guineas are leaving feathers all over the place. I need to go out and check the birds but it is poring rain and tornado watch in effect.
