The Old Folks Home

Just took rolls out of oven and dished up chili.

Husband pushed chili aside and is attacking sourdough rolls. I think they are a hit~:ya
You are not the first person to have that experience with those rolls!

Penny did too. They are so easy to make too!

chicka, I have better luck with "Bugstop," Walmart and I think Home Depot carry it. Out here though, it's pretty much tucked away for next spring. We get too cold, snowy, or icy, for them to be around.

Yellow Jackets mob people at parking lots trying to get in the cars with them, when we get colder temps. I hate them!! In the house, I just spray them well with Spic N'Span
cleaner from Dollar Tree. First blast knocks them down then I stomp on them. Go through alot of bottles. Also works on spiders, crickets, centipedes , silverfish etc.

Well the ladybugs are back! And they brought friends this year!
Yellow Jackets and Red River Wasps! They are everywhere and getting in the house!!!
Lord help us! I was running around with raid spraying all around the doors and windows...
:hit
We are over run with those lady bugs too, crawling over the log cabin everywhere. It's a wonder the guineas are not up there eating them.

Are you sure they are ladybugs? There is another bug that looks like them that is a destructive beetle:

These are some of them- The one in the top middle is a lady bug.

Lol, i didn't look that close but i might check them out tomorrow. Thanks.

I hate those lady bugs. Actually around here I think they are Japanese Beetles. Nasty things. They fly into you like they don't see you, climb all over you. If you wack them they let off a stink that makes you run for the shower to wash it off fast. And if you aren't fast enough swatting them the little witches bite you.

I have actually used the vacuum cleaner to suck them off the ceilings during an invasion. Talk about them letting off a stink.

We had a few this year. Not like most years and surprisingly only these little miniature yellow jackets instead of the big guys. After two years in a row of getting stung multiple times, I'm not complaining. They will probably be thick next year.

The rolls were delicious. I actually think the starter is milder than what I am used to and we really like it. I'm embarrassed to say how many rolls we both ate. So I'll just post a before picture:

This recipe will not have too much of a sour taste to it. The sourdough likely has a bit to go to be at full strength too.

I will send the tangy sourdough recipe to you
