Well, I've got the eye doctor who is also military trained in electronics. He's also good repairing everything from tractors to toasters PLUS he takes care of ocular infections and injuries with my chickens. Yep, got me a good man!:wee

I just got back from my doctor's appointment. Had to have another injection into my back and got some bad news about my aching swollen red joints. Namely that it's rheumatoid in nature and I have to see a rheumatologist at some point in time. I asked him if he could keep me going till my medicare kicked in next year as my insurance sux and he said he'd give it a go.Will mean injections into nodes I've developed in my fingers.:hitI put them off until after the holidays....maybe they will go away on their own then.

I will pray it is not rheumatoid I have a set of cousins that it was in their Fathers side of the family he was a wonderful uncle adored him him and Ma's sister aunt Fern were my god parents loved them both dearly they had three daughter's one severely affected the other two one passed before it was too bad the last is not horrible with it as her sister is..
maybe the worst a body can have I will keep you in my prayers..

I also have the most wonderful man in my life :love
 
Thanks Penny, I appreciate that. Unfortunately, it's almost a given. Exactly which form it is is the unknown. I think they called it rheumatic tendinopathy. Not really a big surprise I've been suspecting it for some time now that is why I need to see a rheumatologist at some point in time to see if there is something we can do to stop joint deformation.

Really, nothing for me will change. I'm too stubborn to let that happen. oh blah dee oh blah da as the old song goes.
 
You have the right attitude to fight for it.. I am fortunate in many ways arthritis may get to me but it is old fashioned, taking predinsone for 2 years gave me a small case of osteoporosis... the neuropathey in my feet I have learned to live with not as painful as a diabetics so I am okay
 
My brother has been a diabetic since college. Despite being very disciplined, he has many of bad side effects of the disease. He has neuropathy in the feet and gets comfort from using lidocaine patches. It took some experimentation to find the best sites for the patches and they have to be moved around from time to time or cause irritation. He said it has really helped him. He can do some walking instead of sitting on a bench all the time.
