I need to start ramping up for Thanks Giving this year. I will have my Mom, Sister and many nephews over this year. My Oldest DD will be coming from Santa Clara too. It will not be the biggest Family event form me to host but I do have to work up to Wednesday this year. Luckily I do have Friday offMorning everyone View attachment 1184922
Guess I'm officially a certified crazy chicken lady. Came to this realization when the first thing I did this morning was get dressed and go outside and shovel paths thru the snow so the chooks could get to their favorite spots in their yard.
It gets worse. I then came inside, noticing the girls were now on the woodbox under the kitchen window looking in at me so what do I do? I grab a bowl, add kernels and pop them some warm popcorn, sprinkling brewers yeast on it for them of course.
Mostly just kicking back today. Got a roadtrip to the oncologist tomorrow for my checkup and bloodwork, no biggy. Nice thing is DH has already given the ok to come back the way that takes us by the only TSC in the northI get to do a bit of Christmas shopping country style
Rest of the week is going to be chaos. Think I already mentioned I will be deer camp cook again this year. Only two of the grandsons this time but trust me they can eat for four. Oh to have that metabolism again, sigh. Anyway, it's digging out the spare bedroom so the boys can actually find the bed, otherwise that room is my winter craft room, the brooder room in spring and a catchall the rest of the year. Then it's baking some pumpkin and turning them into pies, a big batch of chili of course and then I plan to throw a 10 pound turnkey into the PPXL (my electric pressure cooker). I still have to decide what I'm going to turn it into. Oh, and Lord forbid I forget to make a huge batch of my deercamp cookies. The boys would never forgive me. I didn't have any made when my daughter and family came up earlier in the fall and I had to promise to send them a "care package" as well so I have to get their's made too. I hope the boys have good luck this year, we've only seen one good sized buck so far this fall but I'm constantly chasing the does and fawns away from the chicken fence. Guess they're catching wind of all that fresh grain.
Deb, prayers for you of course, please keep us posted on your journey successes (I know you will have plenty)
