The Old Folks Home

Threaten to take them to the airport to meet a foreign guy in a van........:lau

my kids would probably think that sounded cool! :lau

ok furnace guy came out and spun me a story that some nozzle eyebally thing that tells if the furnace is running or not was all sooty so the furnace couldn't tell what it was doing so it safetied off. They claim it's unrelated to the previous gillion furnace issues in the past 8 days, which are all suspiciously not related to each other.
Water heater still fubared, still dripping.

:barnie Wow! Would I be ticked! We had a leaky pipe again this past weekend. The tape patch I put on last month finally failed.

Ah well. This time we cut out the pipe section and replaced it.

I don't care for Wendys at all but, my brother likes it. I should say my brother is a great eater, I don't think I've ever seen him refuse anything. Even when he doesn't like something, he cleans his plate. I don't, I cover stuff with napkins and I'm done.

I am also picky. :hmm I had had the fantasy that as I aged I would be more willing to try new stuff. nope.

I don't think you can sell those, have to pay to get rid of them

:he Now ya tell me!!!!

Mine is usually in the 120 to 130 over 80 range at home. I monitor it and am not worried either.

Before a diagnosis of hypertension is made, several readings are supposed to be taken over time, including some at home, because a lot of folks have white coat syndrome. Shoot, I get a little bit anxious just making a phone call.

I take the Atenolol for PAT Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia where your heart rate can jump up above 140 just sitting in a chair and suddenly go back down to normal. And for a slight mitral valve regurg from the rheumatic fever I had back in my 20s. I have been taking them since I was 28 yrs old and it has controlled my problems well.

The only thing I have against it is that I am a physical person. Lots of cycling, running, you name it and I cannot get my heart rate up to to a rate that I need to get it up to a beneficial level for exercise. If I can get my aerobic rate up to 140 I'm doing good. Can't get it higher than that to go aerobic.

Cardiologist once told me that after 45 I could face a replacement valve so keep myself fit, weight down and exercise. I've made it to almost 65 and my murmur has actually diminished mainly due to the fact that as we age the axis of your heart changes and your heart moves into a different position in your chest. That can pull the valves into a better position. I only hear my murmur now if I am under a lot of stress or sick. Then it is a grade 1.

I'm one of those people that folks look at and say "WHOW! You look healthy." Only DH and I know the truth, LOL.;)

Hey, I'm familiar with that drug.

Me too! :gig

Can you take half a pill for blood pressure?

Depends on the medication. Some pills cannot be split (because certain long acting medications need to be whole to work right... if not they can dump all their medication at once instead of over 24 hours, which causes a huge bump in medication in your bloodstream and can be unsafe).

Many pills can be split, and often the pills are flat priced, meaning (this is completely made up just as an example) a 5 mg tablet and a 10 mg tablet are priced the same, so if you need 5 mg for your dose and have the dexterity and mental acuity to not screw this up, you could save half the price by splitting a 10 mg tablet.

Um WHY are they taking your BP at the dentist?? I could maybe see it if they had you under for a procedure but a cleaning?? I've never had my BP taken at the dentist.
I know! It is very weird and they do not do it at very cleaning(I go every 6 months). They also use a wrist type that is very in accurate.

Next time I will refuse and see what they do. It is rather pointless
