The Old Folks Home

My DW fell and hurt her knee so I am at home for the afternoon. She injured her MCL ligament. It is supposed to heal on it's own.
So sorry! How did she fall? I don't know what damage i may have done to mine when i fell on them, but they do still hurt. At least i can walk.

I tore both right and left knee MCL in Yosemite in June. How long did they tell her it would take to recover? I'm still in recovery.

they will not heal without surgery microscopic

@chickadoodles, I love your new avatar. That chick is so cute.

No fun tearing your knees up, or your shoulders for that matter. I think tears are as painful as fractures and take just as long to heal.

@ronott1, take care of DW. Sorry she fell and got hurt. Now is the time for her to pamper herself and take it easy. That's not always easy for us women to do.;)

In preparation for the sure to come ice storm, and remembering my crash and burn with a broken rib during the last ice event, DH made 'ice grips' for me on a pair of my old boots:

He used hex head 1/4inch sheet metal screws that he used to use on his motorcycle for winter riding.
Seems like those flat heads would be really slippery on hard ice. OK on ice soft enough to punch through.

I do know that this new doc was suggesting I try aleve, tylenol, naproxin or motrin
DD2 had an ear operation 2 weeks ago. Dr.'s OTC suggestion was to alternate 1000 mg Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and 400 mg ibuprofen (Advil) every 4 hours. She also got a script for Oxycontin, we didn't fill it. She has a pretty high pain tolerance and that stuff is just nasty. Originally meant for people in hospice that are going to die soon anyway. It was never intended for long term use but you know how it is. When the pharmaceutical company can make a killing selling drugs, they don't care who is getting them as long as they ARE getting them.

Mine was state of the Art...Summer of 2016.
Mine was state of the art maybe 20 years ago :gigIt is a TracFone flip phone. No fancy features.

That would be peachy. I get tired of having to sit on the back porch in the winter wearing my heavy coat and wrapped in a sofa throw just to make a call that lasts longer than 5 minutes.
We can MAYBE get text messages through IF the phone is right near the north windows in the bedroom. Voice calls? :gigThe Verizon tower is on the other side of the hill west of our house, GREAT reception on the road that parallels ours. Signal must glide over the hill and our road.
