The Old Folks Home

You live in a town settled by Vassals @superchemicalgirl?? That has to be pretty unique.
Glad you don't have ice down on the surface. As I recall your driveway would be 110% impassable if iced over.

I plan to blow snow about 10 AM, will likely be about 6" by then with the sleet on/in snow we have now plus what we get overnight. Then another 3" will likely fall after I'm done. That is passable with the cars. Given a choice, I'd rather not be blowing snow at night. I do have a light bar mounted on the blower housing but it is still a lot easier to see during the day. Plus the winds should be pretty light at 10 AM. They'll likely be up around 15 MPH when we get home from the in-laws.

Might need the snowshoes to get to the chickens and alpacas Tues AM though, the NW wind is likely to stuff a lot of snow between the barns. I can always go down through the barn from the drive bay instead.

do you have an enclosed cab? or are you turning into a frozen iceman while you blow?

Cute!

It seems wrong to see them in the snow though...

nah, they are from super high elevations... so hot summers and crazy cold winters.

Officially Christmas here in like 15 minutes. Would already be 45 minutes in if we didn't have to mess with the clocks. I don't know anymore if the time is "real" now of during the summer... :idunnoNot that it really matters. :hmm So, Merry Christmas all. Gonna be low 20s here tonight then a few nights back into the low 30s. Back bedroom is pretty danged chilly right now. I turned on the heater fan to try and circulate some warm air from up near where the wood stove is. Really don't want to turn the heat pump on if I can avoid it.

Merry Christmas!

Caramel rolls are about to go into the oven!

Sound like boys, no girls? I was supposed to get Larry the Llama from a rescue when we moved to TN but it fell through. Then DH decided i really didn't need one...
Yep, geldings. Don't see a lot of llamas up here. Alpacas were quite the popular "craze" for awhile but not so much now that people have figured out there aren't silly people willing to pay thousands for an animal who think they can find other silly people to pay thousands for an animal.

In the Andes they are raised between 11,500 and 16,000 feet year round. I suspect they have snow there.

No cab on the garden tractor. I do have my insulated Carhartt coveralls. With a hood. Didn't figure I needed the hood at first since I have a hat. But that gap from hat to collar - chilly!
