I remember when that quake happened. I think I was watching the World Series that evening.Really scary, especially the buildings sinking below street level and the freeway collapsing. They were talking on a news feed that I watched that they were doing soil sampling of the area on the San Andreas fault and the geologist said that the samples they took told them that the fault usually has a big quake at least every 100 years and the samples they took said that the last 'big' quake was 165 years ago....oops.

California is such a beautiful state. If it wasn't for the Hollywood nonsense that goes on it would be perfect. Still I think I would rather risk the random tornado, severe thunderstorms, blizzards, heat waves and frigid winter temps than constant threat of earthquakes. Oh wait! We do have that. It's called the New Madrid Fault!

You guys have got what 5 or 6 volcanoes in the Cascade Arc?

I know where there are several nice properties for sale, Penny...you know, just in case you need to bug out really really really fast.

They could all go at once we would not have to bug out that is one reason for looking down here but Lewis county has always been timber town little less incomes which worked for us buying here properties where not million we bought the most beautiful home and 3/4 an acre where if it was in King or Pacific County it would have been three times what we paid

I always use Cambridge brand, they have always worked well for me. When using anything made of plastic outside, I don't expect it to last too long though.

These where actually photos done prior to us buying it We have 2178 sq ft I know I am prejudice but love our home and does not show all the chicken coops now

what I learned in my Geology class was that they erupted on average every 250 years on average. Lassen erupted in 1915. Next was Mt. St. Helens.

Mt. Shasta last erupted in 1786--230 years ago so it is due soon

And well within your right. Gorgeous home and property. Climate wise, I could very well stand daily showers in exchange for more moderate temperatures throughout the year.

That and good sea food within a reasonable distance. Want crab? Has to be shipped in. Want wild caught salmon? Has to be shipped in. There is a lot of difference between shipping it in from the coast to Mossyrock and shipping it into the midwest from the Pacific Northwest.

My dad was born and raised in PA. When I was growing up and we had shrimp, mom would buy jumbo shrimp and dad would look at one shake his head and say 'culls'. He was used to eating shrimp the size of bratwurst. Not in IL though. Same with oysters. I love breaded fried oysters and always drooled when dad would tell me about fried oysters the size of luncheon plates.
