The Old Folks Home

This duck was sitting just like this, just outside my patio. It's been hanging around all day. It's wild. Later on, I put a bit of chicken feed over away from my coop, but it didn't try to eat any of it. Much later, Dh and the grandkids discovered it was out there. Dh seems to think we need to care for it. He thinks it's a female. He put some plywood on the trailer bed, and hay underneath to give it shelter, and a place to nest. He, and the kids tossed some bread to it, which is how I know it's not tame at all. It wouldn't come near anyone, even for bread. Yes, I know too much bread is not good for them. I'm not sure it's healthy tho. I don't want it giving something to my chickens. It doesn't appear to be injured, but it walks off if someone tries to get close. It doesn't seem to have much energy. I guess, if it's here tomorrow, I'll put out a water bucket, and a feed dish.
I don't know very much about ducks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

clue, Definitely a Muscovy but depending on age, could be a male. They get much more "fleshy" around their face the older they get. Here is my male, Paulie, as a young guy. drake.jpg
Look at its legs. Are they thick? My male had much thicker legs than the females. Also, my male had a crest and the females didn't.
Try peas or whole kernel corn as a treat...or bugs.
