great photos! It's March-like out there for us, too. We went to Hobbitland today which is a series of trails, and was actually able to walk most of them. Some spots were a bit icy, but the rest had a nice layer of packed down snow to walk on. Can't usually walk that trail here in January. Dog had a great time, hoping she'll settle down and sleep for a few hours but it doesn't appear that we're that lucky.

German chocolate!!! I LOVE German Chocolate!!!As for the German desserts, there are numerous varieties of cookies and pastries as well as cakes and "pies"... Strudels, and breakfast rolls, lots of fruit type desserts with cherries and apples predominating... Virtually every authentic one that I've ever tasted has NOT been sweet by American standards. That's NOT to say that they haven't been tasty/good, just not all that sweet. The French and Italians have a much larger affinity for sweets and sugar. Just my experience.
