The Old Folks Home

Morning everyone. Still trying to wake up. Thank God for coffee. I didn't get to sleep last night due to my joint pain. Even with pain medication I was awake till 1:15 trying to get comfortable....and failing. It took the meds about 2.5 hours in order to kick in. I slept in till after 8 and so now am off to a slow start. Wish there were trade ins on skeletons. :hit

Glad to hear that everyone Alaska way survived the quake without damage to body or property.

I don't like earthquakes either but unfortunately living near the New Madrid fault there is a good chance that sooner or later we will experience a tremor of enough magnitude that we will feel it. There are two trains of thought about the Madrid fault. One says that it is still settling down from the quake of 1812 (the one that made the Mississippi River change it's direction and change it's course) and will go inactive eventually. Then there is the train of thought that says it's still active and living on borrowed time for a quake that will match or surpass the 1812 quake. I recently read a book of fiction concerning the occurrance of an 8+Richter quake on the Madrid fault and the effect such a quake would have on the country is speculated to be as bad as the effect as an eruption of the super volcano in Yellowstone would be.

Not very reassuring. Especially since the ring of fire seems to be hyper active these days.

But as the old song says, Don't worry! Be happy!:wee

I'm so old, I remember when having to eat soap used to be a punishment. From some of the language I've heard, some of those kids need to eat at least 2 Tide Pods.

what, wait, what happened?

Whatever it was, I am sure I agree. :lau

Tide pod challenge, newest thing. Kid's think it's cool to challenge each other to eat those Tide pods.
When our oldest was younger it was the cinnamon challenge. Eat a teaspoon of cinnamon without drinking anything, video taping and uploading it to YouTube.
"Cinnamon coats and dries the mouth and throat, resulting in coughing, gagging, vomiting and inhaling of cinnamon, leading to throat irritation, breathing difficulties, and risk of pneumonia or a collapsed lung "
