For some reason the die off I was experiencing has suddenly stopped in it's tracks. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled but yeah, why haven't any more died?
Apparently their bodies have developed the ability to fight back.
Seriously, DH pointed asked me one morning if I could imagine what life would be like if the highlight of my day was waiting at the door for a member of another species to bring me a slice of bread and a cup of sunflower seeds?
He might want to consider that chickens are prey animals and if left to their own devices (assuming they don't get eaten) would spend all day resting or looking for food. Handouts are easier and leave more time for resting

Of course my girls demand their morning BOSS and evening scratch, but they are quite happy to forage when they are outside (and the ground isn't covered with snow and ice), saves me some chicken feed costs.

I missed them all....
Don't worry, there have been, and will be, other events you can look back on.
I asked for the cousin discount but no lol. They're $350 no papers which I don't need anyway. I thought that was a good price.
Last shelter pup we got was $350, shots wormed and microchiped though. TSC does shots either 30 or $60 don't remember right off. Or you can buy the shots there and do it yourself for $10.
$350 does seem reasonable. Other than rabies (in this state) I gather you can buy whatever vaccines you need for a dog at
TSC.
One of our neighbors has a chocolate Lab. The dog is a big lumbering Klutz but a sweetie. I've never met a Lab that wasn't.
I was greeted at the door to the engraving place by a chocolate lab today. Hard to get in the door, she wanted a lot of scratches

Picked up my sign for the Fed Ex guy. It reads "Please put packages inside" (meaning the enclosed porch). He leaves them out on the ground, in the snow whatever. A week or so back I opened the storm door and stepped down, only I didn't. The box was shallow enough for the door to open over it.

Fortunately it was books.
My body tells me I'm ancient as well... but, I'm not quite 30 yet, I bet by the time I'm actually old I will just be a puddle of goo somewhere...
Very sorry to hear that! We older people at least have the excuse of age.
