The Old Folks Home

I think we all have a story or two on the subject and would rather not.
Lost a uncle awhile back. Alcoholic, on the wagon, off the wagon. He and my aunt did have a good relationship, good guy, great father. He had cirrhosis of the liver.
Was sick one winter, aunt wanted to take him to the hospital but he said no, he'd be alright. When she came home from work he was dead, they said he had pneumonia.

DW's brother died in a headon this last summer, he was a yr younger than me. I was PO'd getting the phone call 3am from MIL wanting a ride to the hospital until she said he probably wouldn't make it. (I've had many late night phone calls through the yrs over her brother's) He was DOA, laceration to the liver, BAC was .3+
He was driving in-laws minivan vs F450 superduty, lucky the other driver was not hurt.
Some people thought my in-laws should have sued the bar he was coming from. Not the bars fault even though by law, not supposed to serve someone that's intoxicated. He made a habit of it and not the first bad accident he was in, just the one that killed him. I didn't mention it here cause of the circumstances.
I'm always the one they call. Had to pick up DW's younger brother three out of four DWI's in five yrs. That third one MIL called I said NO! Leave him there maybe he'll learn something!! She begged me, said if his dad got him they would fight so I ended up going. Had to rescue him from a couple accidents late night also. Hard to get up for work dealing with others crap all night. Had to let in-laws borrow our vehicles when their 'boys' smashed up theirs, many times. They are enablers.
I said no more no! once when DW asked if her dad could borrow our car, I picked her brother up from 2nd DWI , dropped him off, they got fighting after I left and he got mad and threw a big rock through their car windshield.
DW says 'please, dad's all upset he thinks he broke Danny's nose and he has to deliver bread this morning'
what!? He hit him! good! I guess he can borrow the car...
Sometimes I don't even want to answer the phone...
Problem is IMHO people like that don't care at all, and the people it affects care too much.

Just saw this on FB lol.

OK, so the weight was down another pound from last time. Had hoped for more but will take any negative over an addition. As with every visit, caught a ration over the weight and that I need to take it off. Yeah Doc, tell me something I don't know! :rantCould stand to lose over 100 pounds. Just the thought is mind boggling... Just can't picture me missing/losing/removing the equivalent of two 50 pound bags of goat pellets or chicken feed if you prefer. Tests were not all in but those that were were all within tolerances ;) Back to see him again in July.

So I went to the wood fired pizza place and ordered a pizza with extra pepperoni. (They added more but did it for free! :celebrate:drool ) OK... quiz time here...

What happens when your wood fired pizza comes to your table, fresh out of the oven, and you're soooooooooo hungry because you've been fasting and 4 hours of driving & are dying to get a bite so you dive right in and take a nice big bite?

Well, after spitting back out the bitten off piece, :tongue you realize there's a blister rising on the roof of your mouth from hot melted cheese sticking there and burning you... :hit<sigh> no big deal, was entirely worth it. I ate the entire pizza all by myself, dipping the crusts into all that glorious red grease floating on the top from the olive oil and pepperoni. :yesss:

I was full when I left the restaurant but no longer am, just very comfortable and satisfied. I think the hot wings are going to wait till tomorrow. ;) Pretty sure I'm done eating for today. Maybe a small salad later after dark.

Hated to click "Like" on your post Beer, but dang son... you have a lot more patience than I. I'd have cut the lot of them off years ago.

Yeah what @Latestarter said. Boy you even TRIED and got shot down.

You have to start small and take small steps. They all add up.

You do not need to lose that much. 10 to 20% is what will get you a lot of health benefits!

Make sure your weight loss is sustainable an more of a life style change. Those work the best for long term weight loss

a quick note before I go take a nap

Pathology analysis from surgery...

Ok for what its worth... I have lost a grand total of 20 lbs. Because of the state of growth of the cancer tumor (aggressively in the wall of my Uterus) even though they got it all in the surgery I will be going through seven to eight weeks of Radiation Therepy.

There are indicators that I have the genetic propensity toward Colon cancer.... So I will be going through Genetic testing for that as well.

Radiation and or Genetic testing wont start till I have fully recovered from the surgery.

Lately I have been feeling dibilitating pain in my abdomen.... upon getting up out of a chair or straightening up after leaning over. It feels like I am ripping something... Told the doc and he said is from bruising during the surgery.... They did a nerve block on my abdominal wall prior to surgery ... I read up on that and its good for about fifteen days. so Its just now beginning to run out... so increased pain is being felt. All good Um er... just Not bad...

So I may be headed for more weight loss as well as hair loss on my abdomen and lower.... All Good.
