The Old Folks Home

Yep... but... here in tiny town satellite college many classes are on the computer. My son is taking one class this semester where he is the only local student. So my son sits in a classroom all by himself, and watches a TV... of the professor lecturing in some other city.
Yes!

Satellite classes have been around since I was in College(1978--no computer classrooms then).

Sorry he has to be by himself.

Diva, the whole freezer section is a special ice cream section. I need to get it wiped down, and stuff loaded into it, but I didn't want anyone saying if there were no pics, it didn't happen. OHHHH, they were careful to preserve the boxes. My grandkids are going to have a blast with them.

I just read, it does have a rapid freeze, so when adding frozen things from the grocery store it brings them back down to freezing quickly, and it prevents ice cream already in it from getting soft.

Rapid freeze way cool may have to look into that

I picked out a rug on Overstock 70% off yesterday and some curtains for the dining room this morning.

Only like 15 pages to catch up I love the curtains and rugs very nice, morning everyone

I'm the dish washer and my excuse is "I washed the dishes. I didn't say they were clean." you know like spaghetti sauce remnants, wayward noodles, No, when that happens I stick them back in the sink to rewash and go over them with Brillo or something.
I don't know why they even put some of them in there, you know they ain't coming clean so why? It's a dishwasher not a dishscrubber... Can't you wash some of them by hand? Nope they just put them back in for a second round.
I toss a little bleach in it sometimes. DW says why do you do that? If you ever tore one apart and seen how disgusting they are you would.
Ours has a screen, and chopper knives on the pump motor, some stuff still gets in there, starts not working good. Bread bag twist ties, plastic sleeves from juice pouch straws, hair, yuck stuff etc.

Sent DW this pic when she was at work, who did the dishes last night?
Our 13yr old. She said 'I told her not to put knives in like that'.
Look a little closer....

sharp knives are dulled by the dishwasher detergent. I never put them in. Pens in the dishwasher? Oh My!

Thanks Penny.

I know it's not the same but I bought a new counter top dishwasher a few years ago for the same price as a floor model. But it would not hook up to our antique faucet.so when my kitchen gets done I'll finally get to use it! :weei can hardly wait!
It is great the you guys are getting kitchen remodels!

Um, er ... keeping the spoons from "nesting"??
I would guess that the pen wouldn't make the dishes cleaner, nor increase the life of the pen itself.

We've managed to never get non food related items into the dishwasher. Must have had defective children. Now that they are adults, one ASSUMES they are smart enough to not do such things.

We don't put sharp knives in the dishwasher either. Of course most of them have wooden handles and that is enough to keep them out.

I didn't know that.
Most of our knives we probably wouldn't care, not real sharp anyway.
I have a set of different size filet knives I use the most, I wash them by hand every time I use them and put them up where kids can't get to them, like razors, I've sliced myself a few times with them lol.
That knife on the right is not supposed to go in dishwasher, was a set of dark green camo that oldest dd gave me for Christmas last yr. Two of them that did get put in washer turned pink! they have been told..
I popped the washer open one day and there was one of our cast iron frying pans :he
She put in a nice cutting board oldest dd's bf made us, split it a little on one of the glued seams. She just did it again, I about hit the roof...
It looks like new now though, must have dried slower or something, split closed up.
She might be book smart, but common sense just doesn't come easy for her...Lol.
