The Old Folks Home

Norovirus....gotta love it. NOT Makes you sick enough to think you are dying and wondering why you just don't so you are out of your misery.

The only good thing is that it doesn't last forever even though you feel like it does.

Feel better @Beer can and family.

Morning greetings to everyone!

Ron that cheese looks amazing. I thought for sure it was a 'store bought' model.

Added water to my incubator this morning and did a quick look see. NO internal pips yet I'm still seeing some veining in the membranes so things have a way to go.

Have I mentioned that I REALLY hate this stage in incubating?:he
Thanks! I will do better next time with waxing. I plan on using hotter was and dipping the cheese--That will help sterilize and seal better than painting.

I become obsessed with checking until I see the first pip. I listen for cheeping when they internally pip. I feel a lot of relief then...I did not kill all the chicks somehow!

Same here. Fall turn back is no big deal, get an extra hour's worth of sleep back but loosing it. Bah.

Just came in from repairing my nets till the weather settles and I can do it better justice. I had two new lengths of netting but only had to use one. Stretch, secure, patch repeat. Had to tear down one whole section and patch in a new piece about 12X8. It must look pretty chuckleatious to the hawks and pipeline inspection plain that flies over once a week but hey, as long as it keeps the birds in and the hawks out, I don't care.

We will be getting to the time of year when I need to setup the sun shade for the hens.

Hopefully the misting nozzels will be good. our new water has less minerals in it than the old ground water.

Yeah, I'm pretty much a basket case til I see that first internal pip then I tend to settle down and let the chicks be chicks.

Right now I have the air cells backed up to the outside dome of the Brinsea. That way all I have to do is shine the little highbeam flashlight I use for candling through the dome and I can see if there is an internal pip on any of the eggs without touching anything after day 19.

Sicker then heck yesterday. Barely got out of bed to feed the chickens.
Feel better today, kinda.
Sitting on toilet this morning, see the door knob jiggle, then hear splash
what are you doing? Puking. awesome... so dd stayed home from school.
Sorry the bug has hit your family! Feel better soon.
