The Old Folks Home

Good morning everyone and congratulations @Latestarter on the new kids! Sure are good sized babies and mamma is doing her job guarding the new one.

@penny1960 our biggest boy, Gem will often ambush his much smaller sister. June Bug as I call her, is the hunter of the group, always on the prowl and very strong for her size but when her brother decides to take her down it's like Dwayne Johnson jumping on Twiggy. We usually have to rescue her from under him (she's spitting mad and putting up a fight) and DH said one day after pulling him off her "aren't you glad he doesn't way 250 pounds?

This cat used to play with our Doggo with DM. Dingo would flat out lay on him so you could just see Gem's head and a leg or two sticking out from under the dog. The dog would lay there and lick the cat's head and the cat would be purring for all he was worth.

I woke up to a dusting of snow this morning. it's pretty much gone now so time to get moving.

Everybody have a great Sunday!

Are you sure he ISN'T 3' long????
I have not measured him but it sure looks like it! I will try to measure next time he does that.
Oh crap, he just jumped of the top of the brooder. Knocked the waterer over and it crushed one of my chicks! I have no luck with this batch!
One with a bad beak, one with bad feet and ankles, one tiny one got trampled. Now this. Poor baby!
At first he was laying there like road kill, but then he perked up some. Hope its ok!

Howdy hay! I don't look at those very often (usually on my phone, so all of that is hidden ). I should have an antique badge! I sure have been here a long time! :lau

Talking of LONG TIME!!! I miss you! Retirement must be keeping you busier than your job! :hugs

I miss you, too! I have been sucked into the FB vortex and spend what little time I have online there. Yes, it's true, retirement keeps me busier than working ever did. I don't have a clue how I ever had time to work.

I'm happy to be back among old friends, for a bit!

Well I haven't looked to see how "old" everyone else is but I'm 42 so I guess I can relate with y'all lol. I have 17 chickens and I feed them half layer pellets( Dumor) and half scratch grain ( Producers Pride) both from Tractor Supply. I've been told I'm an old soul, I find myself wanting to do more and more of the things my grandma did( coffee in a perculator, planting flowers, feeding the birds, sitting in porch swing enjoying a cool breeze).

Welcome kiddo! I'm over 60 too. Don't worry about your age, there are plenty of youngsters on this thread. You'd be surprised how much good information we old timers have, and how much fun we have too, in between our aches, pains, and doctor visits.
