The Old Folks Home

I was born, and for the most part raised in Florida, and I still don't care for kumquats. I can't stand pecan pie either. I love pecans, but not in a pie. I love strawberries, and strawberry shortcake, but I won't eat strawberry pie. It's ok, I'm not really fond of grits either. One of the few true born and bred southerners that hates grits, especially the way most people make them. On rare occasions, I'll cook and eat them.

My ex loved my grandmother's grits. Once in awhile, he would encourage me to cook them. I can cook them just fine, but I hate grits, and cleaning the pan after they get cold. Superglue has nothing on cold grits. Even cold oatmeal is easier to remove from the pot, and bowls than grits. I told him that cooking grits required a special grit pot, and I'd inherit my grandmother's grit pot after she died. I got away with that for years.

One day, I walked into my grandmother's house, and she nailed me. "What's this garbage about needing a special grit pot?" "Make your man some dang grits, and cut it out with the nonsense." Busted! After that, I made grits for him.

I would love to be able to grow oranges. But they won't grow here. So the Meiwa Kumquat is the answer for me. I was going to get a Satsuma but Dh said he does not think we should. But the kumquat is citrus and this one is the sweetest.

Lemon was first on the cold hearty list.

My favorite lemon:
The Meyer lemon is the most cold hardy of the lemons, producing large, almost seedless fruit that ripens over the course of several months, beginning in late summer. It is cold tolerant to the mid-20’s.

Key to cleaning Grits or oat meal out There are two ways.... 1. Let em dry completely and they will come out with a dry paper towe. 2. Fill the pot back up with water and put em back on the stove.... boil and dump and wipe....

because of my neeeed for information.... I am guessing they are testing during the simulation to see if they can give me Brachiotherepy.... as well. Sigh.

Brachiotherepy concentrates the radiation to one spot... In this case the top where the cervix used to be... if its too close to the bowel they cant do it thats why the extra internal contrast preparation. The "surprise"

next session will be a radiation treatment but a thorough discussion on my treatment plan according to the Simulation results... That was the Exit for my hysterectomy...

Now I am back to fighting off worrying....
