They stay proportionate all through the bacon head stage.... But if you rip off all their feathers they are pretty proportionate all a long. Long legged too. Thats why they are such fliers and such good runners.

Now that I've seen a naked, dead, plucked guinea, I think the live ones are much better looking. Still wouldn't want to eat one.

My Oldest DD cooked Guinea for us once. It was not bad! Less Gamey than Pheasant.

Dark meat is not my favorite either. Dove is dark meat and Quail is mostly white
