The Old Folks Home

I was in Orschelns today and the clerk in charge of the chicks remembered me from me buying my babies 8 weeks ago and greeted me with "We got more bantams in today!" Naturally I was drawn to the brooder like metal to a magnet. Little ones about three days old. Some I recognized and pointed out to her like more SDW and buff cochins but some I'm going WHOW is that baby cute! Lot's of mottled colors greys and silvers. DH finally grabbed my arm and dragged me away when I announced...that one pecked my finger....I want it!

No, he definitely isn't an enabler, LOL! Which is why when I go on a chick expedition I grab my purse, announce, goingtoorscheln'sbye. And am out the door.

Went to a dinner party on Saturday and somebody passed around a virus. I had a three-day incubation period (congestion that just got worse) and now DH, three days from my onset, is complaining of a scratchy throat.
I finished all my interior work on the Santa Fe house on Monday. Probably pushing myself didn't help my health any, but I'm glad it's done.
Not all whining, though. A high point was my first hatch of 4 Marans from my own flock. Stew the Roo is a daddy! (Love the little mukluks) Better yet, they're sold and going to a new home on Sunday. (So I guess I am a purveyor or chick pimp now...)

And you can see the brooder i started. Frame is now done, and the plywood for the back and sides is cut.

I do too! But sadly none of the boys fly fish!
I haven't used a fly pole in many yrs.
Oldest moved out DD, who I was getting irritated with, kept bringing me her awesome condition low miles '93 jeep Cherokee, some stuff needed to be done, some stuff in her head, worked some bugs out no biggy for a old vehicle. I think she's a 'hypochondriac' ? got to be ridiculous , .... without going into further detail, ridiculous...
Her and her BF, gave me a $$$ fly fishing outfit for my birthday in March, pole reel bag case line, extra line, extra tippets, flies and other stuff...from Cabelas, and to boot, he tied some flies for me himself. I hope they got it on sale, I'd have been happy with a Walmart special... Best BD present I've ever got.

I just realized, Now she owns me, she'll never have to pay for mechanical work or tire changes for as long as I live... I was worried about how much they spent, they didn't spend, they 'invested'... :lau

I had Polish youngsters that did that, sweet birds!
these are pita pints hens.
