I opened my computer, and did housekeeping inside. I vacuum my home regularly. I dust my home regularly. So where does all the dust come from inside my computer? In 3 months it starts looking like a dust bunny graveyard. Anyway, I cleaned all the graphic card fans, and fins, then did the processor fans, and fins. I've got plenty of good airflow now.
:thumbsup

If the computer is on the floor, wit will pick up more debris. I have seen computers full of dust bunnies and pet fur. Six months to a year is a good amount of time between cleaning

I didn't know you could open a computer and clean out dust bunnies.. Let's just say I don't tinker with high tech stuff, or low tech beyond a small flashlight
I have had to take laptops apart to clean them. Imacs are an all in one from Apple and they are the hardest to get into.

I still have the tower from my old computer but, don't use it. My son got me a very small computer, he called it a nuc, or something like that for Xmas. It's about 4.5" x 4.5" and 1.5" tall. It sits on the computer desk, and has small dvd player underneath it.

It uses the same speakers that have been around for years. I don't know names for the other stuff. I love it. For a non-tech old person it's great.

Years ago he gave me a spray can of something to clean keyboard etc. Of course I read cautions on everything and then get afraid to try it. He'll be out for my birthday, so maybe he will show me how to do stuff.

Despite all this, I try to prevail at BYC.

Luckily, DH does all the computer maintenance. He hauls them out to the air compressor and blasts the dust and animal hair out of them. Since we heat with wood there is always a thin layer of dust and residue from opening and closing the stove door to stoke and clean out ash. It somehow manages to find its way into the important parts of the computers.

We have had two totally gorgeous days here. Sunny, highs in the low 80s and no wind. I went out and bodily threw the juveniles out the coop pop door. When they didn't storm back in I went out and peeped around the corner. They were all laying on their sides in the dirt sun bathing. I think they stayed out for about 30 minutes and wandered their way back in.

This afternoon we started work on our deck terracing project, building new stairs, hauling dirt, using rail road ties for the terracing part. First thing I had to do was take down fencing around the deck. We have a section of the yard fenced in for the dogs when we are gone. During nice weather they stay out when we are gone.

Thus the project season starts in our little corner of Missouri.
