The Old Folks Home

Chickadoodles, fake news? I don't do great here. I can't post photos for the life of me, everyone has explained how to do it. No dice. Rarely my brother or son will do it for me.

My computer know how is pretty limited to "post" and "delete." I can't do what is called " click and drag,"(I think) or "cut and paste." What I learned about that in kindergarton doesn't apply to computers. I am not trying to be funny, this is all the truth.

NFC, Ronott, Casportpony, SuperChemicalGirl, can explain all that to you. I think the title you want to change is "Flock Master." that is a term BYC uses according to how many posts someone has put up. Every one starts as "New Egg," and works their way up. Changing location can probably be done with help from a moderator.

PFM membership lets you change your title. Moderators can change them for you.

You location is in your personal details. If this is the first time for changing personal details, you have to add a reason for joining BYC since it is required now.

Diva, I'm old enough, I can't even remember back to kindergarten, but I know I didn't learn about computers then. I was an older teen - young adult when pocket sized calculators became popular. Within a few years the solar ones became the thing. I was grown when video games went from Atari to Nintendo.

I was 39 years old when I got my first computer as a Christmas gift from my dad in 1995. He used them on his job, and he talked to quite a few IT people. It was decided that Windows 95 was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, so he had one of them build a great computer for me. I had never even touched a keyboard prior to that. Software was seriously expensive, but he loaded me up pretty good. I had a Video Professor CD bundle. That's how I learned to use my computer.

My computer came with a CD burner. With Windows 98, I could get a bigger hard drive. I had a relative that had studied to become an IT tech. He came over, and showed me the inside of my computer, and how to add the drive. After the DVD wars, I was able to add a DVD burner myself. About 10 years ago, Dh and I built our first computers from scratch. Each payday, we ordered at least 1 part from our list. It took us about 6 months to get everything we needed. When we got the final part, we put them together. Him on his side of the living room, me on mine, cats running back and forth supervising. We've rebuilt plenty of them since then. I have an assortment of paint brushes, compressed air, and a dust buster I use when I clean inside my tower.
