The Old Folks Home

@chickadoodles, so glad to hear that you are breathing better and feeling better.I'd been following your ordeal but haven't been doing too much responding till today. Funny how when you are sick, you just kind of zone out, at least I do.

I can well sympathize with your sensitivity to drugs. I am the same way. Thought about going to the docs this round of whatever it was that I had but he would just do what I did, chug down Pepto, push fluids, rest, control fever and light diet. From what I read, as long as the nausea and diarrhea don't dehydrate you, you are better off if you let it run it's course, as crazy as that sounds.

I really do wonder about the cognitive effects of Marek's I have one hen left with Ocular plus the Biter. The hen is a sweet girl but really spooks easily and when she does she just runs around screaming and flapping her wings. Then there is the rooster.......I hate to put him down. When he isn't chewing on somebody he's really quite the clown. Really they both act weird when you get down to it.

Thanks for the links, @MrsMistyReal. I read everything I can about this disease since my flock is a victim of it. Realizing that just about every flock in the country has been exposed to it lessens the blow a bit. But in all seriousness, I don't want anyone with chickens to go through what I have been through.

Off to the big city today, If you can call 14,000 a big city, lol. Compared to the 1300 in our town I guess it is pretty big. Y'all have a good one

Oh, almost forgot. I have 4 broody hens and not enough nest boxes to go around.

Why do they do that when you don't want them to?

Have fun in the City! I have learned that the size of the city can have little to do with services there. Woodland has 55,000 ish people but not a large area of people traveling to it for services so it has few services. Most people travel to Sacramento for services. Redding, CA where my Mom lives has 90,000ish people and a lot of service. It is similar to Sacramento which has 495,234 (2016). Redding has a population draw of about a million people. It is a very large geographical area of course

BTW, there is an easy way to not have them question the validity of your ID, don't do things that get you pulled over!!
And what fun would that be? ;)
I did get pulled over once late at night for no reason. Well he did say by the way I pulled you over for that expired registration. Which he could not have seen in the dark coming up behind me, couldn't have noticed if he drove by during the daytime unless he had telescopic vision.
I did have the new registration I just hadn't put it on yet.
Had someone say maybe he ran your plate and it came up expired, umm no it would have came up registered cause it was. Lol.

I had CT and bone scans scheduled for today at 10 am. Went in. Asked about getting the contrast to drink. Was informed by the lady at the check in, to have a seat, they are the professionals, and they would call me when they got to me. Ok, did as told. In a little bit, they called me. I went back, and they stabbed me 2 times to get the IV thingy in. She injected the dye, and was about to pull the IV thingy, when I told her not to. I need it for the CT scan they're doing later. Oh, ok. She called the CT dept. asking about the contrast for me to drink. Nope, I'm good to go. Go home and wait 3 hours, then return. We assumed they were going to give me the contrast to drink when I returned, so it would be ready after the bone scan was done. I head home.

I got about half way home, and my phone rang. I forgot to go get my contrast to drink. Seriously? Now I have to go back in by 1 pm, to sit around for 2 hours waiting on the contrast to work. Sheesh!
