The Old Folks Home

On the other hand, I hate couches/recliners.

I'm... (almost) speechless! Why pray tell? I have severe sleep apnea and can't use a CPap machine. The recliner is a very close friend when I need rest. I don't have much use for couches either. I own one and a love seat to match, but it's for when others are here and need a place to sit. I guess I could have them park butt on a hard dining room chair or the floor... With all the dog hair dust bunnies, they probably wouldn't enjoy that too much. :gig Guess that would be good if I wanted to keep a visit short huh? ;)

It has become difficult to find someone with the name Morin that likes Harleys.

I have a friend whose husband likes Harleys and they are willing to take it "and enjoy the story behind it" so maybe it won't be a dog quilt. That just seems kinda crappy on my part to give away a quilt with someone elses name on it.
One of the 3 choices for "yes, one of these totally unbelievable stories is real" on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me this past week was a lady got a tattoo with her son's name - Kevin. Except the fool "artist" spelled if Kelvin. She didn't want to go through the pain and agony of removal and correction so they changed the kids name to Kelvin. Yep, that was the true one. So find yourself a deserving Harley lover and they can change their name to Morin.

Third, create only for those who deem themselves worthy and listen to the nagging doubt in your head.
I don't think it matters if someone deems themselves worthy of one of your works. In fact, I suspect someone with that sort of ego explicitly does NOT deserve one!

Did you turn off the modem for 5 minutes and the plug it back in?
After unplugging it of course because its really hard to plug something in that is already plugged in ;)

What do you all think of this chicken coop?
I wouldn't want to be the one that has to crawl on the ground to clean it.

All you talented, artistic people make me sick. If I tried to do anything like that even *I* wouldn't know what it was supposed to be! OK, you DO NOT make me sick ;), I very much appreciate seeing the talent some people have. Keep them coming.

Dh is out in the garage comforting his John Deere, assuring it that it will be good as new in no time. He was cutting the grass, when a belt shredded, and went flying off. He took it to the dealership. They agreed they had never seen one do that, and it was probably defective from the factory, and finally messed up, HOWEVER belts are only warrantied for a year. Ours is a year and a half old, so they won't cover the belt. Cost us $60.00, and it will be in next week. Dh is beside himself about it.

I am not artistic but do make artisan bread!

I baked two sourdough rounds on my new pellet BBQ yesterday

Thanks everybody. Like I said, I did this project for fun. In fact I'm reminded that I need to do some touch up painting on it this year and take a finished pick since I can't find the original.

It really isn't hard to do. I worked out the final sketch of what I wanted and DH scanned it into the computer, then measured the little shed and worked the scanned sketch to scale. From then on, all he had to do was print it to scale. We put it together like a jigsaw puzzle, and cut out the major sections. After measuring the shed, we located the pieces where we wanted them, I went to work with a carpenter's pencil, outlined everything I could then went to work. The paint I used is custom mixed at Home Depot. You can get 1 pint containers of paint there. They call it sample paint, but I had them custom mix the colors for me. From then on I just had to paint paint paint and paint some more.

I'd love to do a mural on the roof of our barn. Maybe just the farm name visible from the air and from the road.

We just had the life flight helicopter roar over along with sirens nearby. We NEVER hear sirens here. In fact we have only seen the sheriff dept go by on patrol once in 10 years. So somebody is either dead, badly injured or had a medical crisis. We didn't hear the copter come back this way as Kirksville has the only regional trauma center unless they flew to Columbia. Whatever happened I told DH that somebody's life was changed forever.
:hugs

Oh, almost forgot. When I had chemo this last time, for whatever reason, I didn't like the artificial taste of Kraft, or Velveeta cheese. I changed to a real cheese. I decided to bake a ham for supper tonight. Dh informed me he wanted me to make the box of Kraft mac & cheese, so he could have REAL mac & cheese for a change. Seriously?
