The Old Folks Home

Mine were stinky in one of the cartons..when I opened the box, I had to take a couple of steps back. Phew! They are barn yard mixes. He sent..an extra doz.! I just rinsed the other ones off. I've had to do this before, had a great hatch. ?? Took a photo. View attachment 1462626
They were shipped like that!??! And not only made it intact but hatched? :th

I heard all the stories on how hard they made it for everyone to get their benefits. Ron I'm sorry your family should have gotten the help they deserved.

Bruce your friend should get a lawyer.

I don't talk about my disease but a lot of people with it are also turned down regularly. And I could not afford the medications I was needing to stay alive.
That's why I got a lawyer so fast. And he did not charge me for winning my case. I paid him back for what he spent on getting all my medical records from the hospital for the SS office.
And i got it on the first round.
Thank God.
Thanks! It was tough but we made it through it better than expected

What a horrible packing job!

Shipper should be taken out and flogged.....

Mine like a 2 footer. This contraption is 4 feet - split many ways for the many preferences. The turkeys fit comfortably in the bottom.

@1muttsfriend I agree with you 100%!

Unfortunately to the Amish they are transportation with hooves instead of wheels. My father was in the US Calvary. Think Colonel Potter on MASH. I had pictures of him on his horse wearing his military style riding uniform. He was on their equestrian show team and did Roman Style riding. All this was prior to WWII. If he saw the Amish horses standing out in the sun in full harness or saddled without shade the way they are here he'd be ripping the owners new ones. My horses were pampered and spoiled.

Recently the state has been coming down on the Amish Dog Kennel owners. My husband and I were talking one day when we drove by a local farm when it was in the 90s and I commented about the horse I saw tethered outside the barn fully saddled, just standing there in the sun with his eyes closed. Keep in mind, Amish horses for the most part are brown our black although you do see an occasional brightly colored animal thrown into the mix. Their buggy horses are always the same though and I can just imagine how hot those black hides get in the sun. DH asked me why the state wasn't doing something about the Amish horse ownership and the way they were cracking down on the Amish puppy mills and all I could do was shrug. It was a good question.
My girl is midnight black.... she does brown a little during the winter but in the summer shes always found in the shade during the hottest part of the day.

I took to putting a white sheet on her during grooming if I had to walk a way for a time... She never messed with it... Drove the other horses nutzo.
