The Old Folks Home

I see you lurking there!

Okay, lets start a discussion. I have 45 or so chickens and three guineas. I want everything else I see, goats, geese, llamas, donkeys. I am conflicted between my love of my animals and the concessions my family has to make for me to have them. There is the time I must devote to them, the money I spend that could be put elsewhere and the emotional attachment I develope. Is there anyone else who worries that they are not being fair to the rest of the clan?
Not me, we haven't got a 'rest of the clan' to be fair to (or not). Just me and the husband and our only worry is that we will outlive the animals and birds we have because there are no children or grandchildren to look after them after we have gone. Our oldest alpaca so far was our gorgeous first bought male and he nearly made it to 23 bless him. As we have youngsters of 3 years old, if they live as long as him we will still be pottering round the farm in our early 90's which does not really sound too likely.

:bow You are inspirational!

I hope to still be able to have animals at my place in my 90s

Good to have you here with us

Welcome Sylv! Glad you could find a rocking chair and join us!

I just hope to be around in my 90s, LOL!

Got a picture of Betty and her babies this morning. All 5 of the little ones and mamma enjoying scrambled eggs and wet mash.

I have to say this was one of the less stressful hatchings that I've experienced. I think it was the fact that I had Mamma sequestered and let her do all the work.

Hope everyone facing tests has positive returns, hope those with loved ones in the hospital soon return to their homes in perfect health and hope everyone has a good Friday the 13th.
