We have City Ordinances but no HOA. Not too bad but the City ordinance does not allow for roosters

Well, the garden is going up in flames- who turned Texas on broil? The poor plants and grass are having a real time of it. I think the cantaloupe, squash and peppers are history. the tomatoes look pathetic, but lively. As for the grass, brown is the new green, I guess. Gonna be 102 here today and feels hotter. The week end forecast is for 106-107 degree temps. No rain in the forecast- nada. The annuals in the hanging pots have a brownish tinge to them. Guess I need to move them into the shade. the new drift roses I put out this year are all dead but for 3 which I guess I need to transplant out of full sun. The stuff in the shade even looks a little wilty. They look great in the morning, but by evening, they start to look wilty. I guess just a bad year for plants here. My dwarf fig (Little Miss Figgy) trees put out about 6 figs each, but none have ripened- don't know the cause of that. Any ideas?

Outside city limits here, no restrictions on basically anything... I could put a well in and would probably have decent water... Already have a septic tank and leach field. Can't justify the price though. Water here isn't that expensive. Of course that may change over time.

Nearest town here is 1400 people. Lots of little 'settlement' type towns with 99 people in them. Nearest big city is 17,000. We have city water but our monthly bill is something like 30 dollars. Yeah, very reasonable.

Well, the wood is officially done for 2018. YAY! DH took some pictures tonight. I'll post the finished product as soon as he uploads them.

Storms here this morning and more to the east of us tonight. We got a little over a half an inch. Just a drop in the bucket.

I ordered new netting for over my runs and it arrived in the mail today. Not looking forward to taking down the old net, sorting it out and putting up the new.

In the mean time it's still summer in Missouri....hot hotter hottest.

We wanted to have one of our Steelcase cabinets repaired. They have a lifetime warranty. It turns out the cabinet is from the 1940s and the parts are not longer available....

Thus they are at the end of their life and the lifetime warranty has expired

Hot and drought here too. Have to water the garden every 2-3 days. Pond is going dry, it is filled by rainfall only.

Called the Apple affiliate store today since when I dropped the computer off Monday morning the guy said they would call with status in 48 hours. Nada. The guy I talked to today said the screen is bad and they have ordered a new one. I asked why they didn't call yesterday. "We only call on machines that aren't covered by warranty". The guy who took it in KNEW it was under warranty, why did he say they would call in 48 hours? Now I wait until they call to say it is fixed, he didn't give me a timeframe so I don't know when I'll get it back
