The Old Folks Home

I've got 2 things left to buy, and the kids have all their school supplies. $300.00 worth. We checked 2 Wal-Marts, and they didn't have the kind of scissors we needed. Had to go into town in the other direction, to go to Staples for them. I'm glad my cousin had told me a couple days ago that anything I couldn't find, to go to Staples. My poor, tired brain cells were working, and I remembered. One thing that Wal-Mart has are a LOT of the headphone sets the school requires. They're $3.89 a set. They're a bit better than the dollar store ones, and they're not bad sounding at all. No, they don't sound like $100.00 ones, but for $3.89 I was pleasantly surprised. I'm going to get a few more, since they're on sale for that price, and the grands use them. That way I'll have a couple spares. Oh, 24 packs of Crayons are 50 cents a pack. I want to get a few more packs of them too. Can't beat that price.

Ok, the two best things I got today were: A Dirt Devil 360 that's a hand vac, a mini vac, and a stick vac with a lot of nice attachments. It was originally $59.00 and I got it for $8.34. It's great, and the best attachment is the one for cleaning ceiling fans. That thing cleans both sides of the blades at once, and sucks up all the dust bunnies, so the dust clumps are not falling all over. I've already tested it on the floors, and it does a fine job. I love it. The other thing I got was solar LED lights for outside. There are 8 regular ones, that have not one, but three LED bulbs, so they're bright, and 2 spotlights. The bulbs can be steady white, red, green, or blue, or they can change colors. There is a remote control to set the color patterns, or turn them on, and off. They were originally $99.95 a set, and I got them for $23.79. I'm going back tomorrow to get another set.

Oh, another negative thing that has come with all the rain, is RATS. Their homes out in the fields, and their tunnels have mostly flooded, so they've been moving to higher ground. They've been going through baits like an all you can eat buffet.

It's raining again. It didn't rain yesterday, or today, so it's dumping enough water to make up for it. Dang.

School Supplies!

The sad thing is trying to get more of them later in the year. Not easy to find!
