I am afraid of more fires too. We are half way through the fire season and the last half is often bad for fires

Good luck today, Chicka! Prayers sent!

@Cynthia12 looks like your rooster isn't shooting blanks.

Mine are going into molt. Roosters look more pathetic than usual and are starting to get new growth in. I almost forget what they look like with all their feathers. He's are slowing egg production from 1.5 dozen per day to about 6 a day if I'm lucky. The young mini bantams are still laying so hopefully they will give me a few fresh eggs during the winter. If I remember right they never pushed themselves too much last winter.

And I got the new brooder up and running and the babies moved out to their new digs in the feed room.

DH used his 3D printer to print the door hinges for me. Heat lamps are being powered by a microprocessor and temperature probe that you can see hanging down in the brooder. It keeps the temp steady and allows for precise adjustments up and down.

The gang was curious about the camera except for the little one in the back who took the opportunity to gobble down scrambled eggs while the other three were staring at the camera. Smart baby. They are two weeks old today.
