The Old Folks Home

I'll have to see if I can't get some more pictures tomorrow of the lid and light system. DH designed the microprocessor system that runs the heat lamps.

We went for a walk in the woods this afternoon to see if we could find any lightening strikes after last night's storm. Wound up being chased out of the woods by a freaking huge horse fly. Stupid thing kept trying to land on husband's back and bite him. Got it off of him and it started after me. Thing was vicious and wouldn't take no for an answer. We wound up using our baseball caps to swat it off and headed for the pastures between the timber and home. We thought once we got in the sun it would leave us alone and it did until we crossed the pasture There is a line of timber behind our house. Once we got near the timberline, our friend was back. I've never seen such a determined bug in my life. It finally gave up and we were unscathed but I can really sympathize with a horse if it gets bit by one of those things.

@CapricornFarm, I hope you find your missing girl.

Well i am all upset. One of my Tolbunt Polish pullets is missing. I started looking before dark and found 2 of them. They were all dust bathing near the hoop coop just a few hours ago. The only time i left was to go to PT. I looked high and low, much further than they normally range.
I hope you find her, Cap. A couple of nights ago one of my BR pullets was MIA when I locked them up. Next morning she was "wandering around looking lost" when DH went to let the rest of them out for the day.

Those horseflies hurt! Yeah, will be crying tomorrow if she doesn't show up. I want to buy more so they don't get ripped up by roosters when they start to lay.

I am hoping she shows up big time. I really didn't expect one to wander off. The guineas were loose too.

Congrats on your 3D printer Micro. And your brooder looks great!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Dr. Read the reports. He said I did not need the Ct scan.
And the lump is a fat pad that developed to protect my bones that are sticking out more these days. He said it's nothing to worry about. He also said the nausea and competing the mucus every morning is due to the fan we use at night making my sinuses over work during the night.
Thank the lord it's nothing to deal with. Dh is going to have to adjust to not using the fan at night.
