The Old Folks Home

BF just left to go to the funeral (it's about 4 hours north of here, pretty much to the border) and will be gone overnight.

My first thought upon being left alone all weekend, mildly still sick with sinus crud: I should go buy a longarm sewing machine while he's gone.

Now a responsible adult would probably take that money and put it towards retirement, their mortgage, or even save it for when their 25 year old furnace finally breaks down.

Maybe it's that I only have about 20% of normal airflow through my nostrils causing a low oxygen saturation, but this morning, in a post-Benadryl haze, purchasing a long arm seems like a phenomenal idea.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the long arm dealer is only open Monday through Friday.

I guess I'll go clean the chicken coop, then.

chicka, glad it turned out to be nothing serious.

scg, save that money for your future furnace. I remember the complaints when it broke down last time. You know it's going to pick the worst week, of the worst winter possible, to break down. That's how it works. Be prepared.

Well cleaning the coop and hear a strange noise

So happy it is nothing to worry about Chicka!

The turkey hen from he11 has a chick! Now I bet you have to be REALLY REALLY careful around her.

Big decisions on the sewing machine. I can certainly see both sides of that financial argument given all the quilts you make.
