The Old Folks Home

My turkeys, guineas and chickens are all one happy family.

The ducks have their own enclosure, although they free range when I'm home, because they are filthy, nasty hobbitses.

The goats also have their own enclosure.

And yes, she was biting at me when I was shoveling the shavings near her nest. I won't be cleaning the boxes out this weekend I guess.

@chickadoodles, I am so happy that your test results were good. You had a couple three weeks of sheer Hades not know what was going on, fearing the worse, jumping through hoops, talking to this person and that person who didn't know their knees from their elbows as you tried to get results. If I were you I don't know if I'd be relieved or really peed off at the medical profession in general.

Time for a happy dance though!

That happy dance goes for you too, @superchemicalgirl. That old turkey finally got herself a baby to slobber over. I bet she's a fierce mom.

As for the sewing machine, save half the money for the new furnace, put half the money back for the sewing machine and then work with the goal of getting both! Easy peasy.

Congrats on your 3D printer Micro. And your brooder looks great!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Dr. Read the reports. He said I did not need the Ct scan.
And the lump is a fat pad that developed to protect my bones that are sticking out more these days. He said it's nothing to worry about. He also said the nausea and competing the mucus every morning is due to the fan we use at night making my sinuses over work during the night.
Thank the lord it's nothing to deal with. Dh is going to have to adjust to not using the fan at night.
Thanks for the update!

It is great that the lump was not a bad thing

Congratulations Scg your Turkey got it figured out! I hope she will teach it how to eat. But if she's not willing to get off the other eggs it might be tough.
I can see the pros and cons of buying the long arm machine.
But it could also save you money in the long run from paying to use someone else's machine.

Thanks ya'll I am very relieved.

BF just left to go to the funeral (it's about 4 hours north of here, pretty much to the border) and will be gone overnight.

My first thought upon being left alone all weekend, mildly still sick with sinus crud: I should go buy a longarm sewing machine while he's gone.

Now a responsible adult would probably take that money and put it towards retirement, their mortgage, or even save it for when their 25 year old furnace finally breaks down.

Maybe it's that I only have about 20% of normal airflow through my nostrils causing a low oxygen saturation, but this morning, in a post-Benadryl haze, purchasing a long arm seems like a phenomenal idea.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the long arm dealer is only open Monday through Friday.

I guess I'll go clean the chicken coop, then.
The sewing machine could be an investment. You could easily sell the things you make with it.

:clap Great news! Oh, maybe i need to turn off my fan too.

scg, gmta (great minds think alike). I just finished my shower. Raked out all the coops, took a broom to cobwebs, scrubbed out the water buckets, and feeders. Tomorrow I want to spray the coop, and dust the chickens. Actually, I want to extend my spraying to all the dry areas around the coop too. First for ants, secondly to help keep the mosquitoes at bay. Due to all the rains we've had, the mosquitoes are horrible. I like to dust the chickens very lightly, especially around their combs, wattles, and legs. The feathers seem to protect them in all the other areas.
