The Old Folks Home

That is a chunk o money for a sewing machine. I have problems spending that much money on something I can't live in or drive around. Just too frugal. I think the most I ever spent on something that made me'smile' was the 1000 dollars I spent on a recumbent bike.

Still, if you can afford it, get it if you want it. If you don't want to spend that much money on a new one maybe you could find a good used one at a reduced price. Keep it for awhile, then trade it in on a new one.

Gotta bite the bullet and head out to let the birds out. I imagine they are ready to break out the windows and escape at this point in time.

My aunt bought a sewing machine several years back that cost around $20,000.00. It's computerized, and programmable. Yes, she and her daughter make all their clothes, decorator pillows, sheets and pillowcases, curtains, etc. They do beautiful work, and give a lot of nice gifts for Christmas too. They can pretty much make anything that involves fabric. They knit, and crochet too.

My Mom bought an expensive sewing machine years ago. It is some of those things but was before a lot of computerization.

My Grandma upholstery shop and had an industrial sewing machine. We were not allowed to touch it!

A friend of mine bought a computerized embroidery machine for 15000. Many years ago. And bought a long arm juki about 12 years ago for more than that.
But she makes special order quilts for people. She stays so busy she cant hardly keep up and she's 72. She also does a lot of sewing for charity.
:love Great story!
