The Old Folks Home

Ok, if you say so.
:lau

That is the way 23 and me presents it.

Did you see the chart?

When I was in grade school it was all about sets and subsets. Parts that make a whole part.

Britain is in Northern Europe. Spain is in Southern Europe. If you take all of the countries that make up Northern Europe, they will add up to 100 percent. So the countries That my genes come from are:

British and Irish: 57.7%
French and German Switzerland: 17.8%
Broadly northwestern European: 21.7%
57.7+17.8+21.7= 96.7%

The rest is small percentages of other places

I've got the DNA story to top all stories. I don't have any driving need to have it done. I know my dad was 100% German/Pennsylvania Dutch descent and mom was Irish and Cherokee.

My brother decided to get his done though and contacted me saying he'd just had his DNA done and did I know he was adopted? His DNA didn't match either side of the family. Ummmm, yeah, I thought you knew, I replied. Nope, it was news to him. He is 72 years old. Oh Crap, was all I could say.

True story.

No one told him? But most knew about so he was very much accepted into the family.

Great Story!

Yeah, ya think? Everybody seemed to know, including my cousins, except for him. Dad told me he knew. Didn't matter to me, he was still my BB and still is.

I was glad he finally said something, a little p****d that when all was said and done I had to tell him. It's like cripes mom and dad, I didn't adopt him, fergawdsake! He was just happy I'd saved all the paperwork that I found after mom passed away. We'd been estranged for almost 20 years so I figured he just knew.

Bruce, you sure are doing a lot of driving for your daughter's college reviews... Is there some particular reason why she has decided to look strictly at Canadian schools? I mean, I know you're in northern VT so probably close to the border and all, but my guess would be she's going to need to live at the school of choice regardless of where located...
Why Canada? Nice schools, cheaper. Mt. Allison would be $25K a year USD including housing, meals and medical, UVM (if they have the programs) would be $31K, no medical insurance. Since she is 25 now, she'll be tossed off DW's insurance in March so more money for that. I really don't understand why they give a rat's patootie if related people are all on the same insurance ... other than greed, they can charge more for the family -1 and a single than family of 4.

We loved the Garden View restaurant in Dartmouth, NS. Bruce, if you ever go to Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, stop on the way at Holts Take out. Excellent scallops and fish & chips. My in-laws live nearby.
Too late, already home/
First most famous duck is Donald.

Second is the Bangor Maine police departments duck of Justice .
DD looked it up. At first I thought it was a real live duck. Then found out it was a stuffed duck in a glass case. We chose not to interact with the Bangor police.

I see that you left on your camping trip before we drove (generally) past your house around 11:45 today. I hope the nice thoughts I sent toward it will hang around until you return.

Taste of Egypt in St. John N.B. gets :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
