The Old Folks Home

So my husband was doing a consultation with a new-ish horse operation a few miles from here (the place is a total sand pit, and they want some grass). While he was there, one of the boarders was trying to load her horse onto a trailer. "Trying" is the relevant word here; the horse was not cooperating. Supposedly, this woman has given lessons for years, so you'd think maybe she'd know a thing or two, but she was standing in front of the horse, pulling on the lead, and the horse wasn't budging. Hubs said he even heard her mutter, "come on, if you move, I'll take the pressure off." Hubs told me, "I'm no horse person, but I knew that wasn't going to work; they move away from pressure, not towards it." The woman's husband was there, but not being a horse person either, he was staying out of it. I don't know, perhaps Hubs said something, and she was like "OK, Mr. Smarty Pants, you know so much? Let's see how you do," but the woman said something about her shoulder getting sore and handed the horse off to my husband. Hubby said he walked the horse through several tight circles and then straight up into the trailer, and the horse never even hesitated. He told the other man, "I'm no horse person; I've no idea why that works, but I've seen my wife do it and it works for her."

And I thought the man never listened to me.:gig

Surprising, isn't it Bunny? Yeah, they listen sometimes.

We listen, honest we do. It's just that we have great difficulty separating the 'right from the wrong'.
@Bunnylady of course Critter listens to you - like me he's learned more from watching than listening.

Good morning, Old Folks.

micro, are the shots helping?
Thank you for asking. Yes I think I am seeing some improvement in my hands-not as much morning stiffness and pain. The middle finger of my right hand is pretty much a lost cause (DH says that's what I get for flipping people off all the time:lau) but the other 9 are about 75% improved. My feet are still a pain, literally, if I am on them too much during the day. Yesterday I slept much of the afternoon after the shot so not much foot pain to complain about.

So I think I am getting some relief from the shots. I see my PCP on Thursday and then the Rheumy the following week. I expect him to bump up the dosage on the methotrexate. Oh joy. I get to sleep more.

Cap, impressive coop, as always.

SGC, same for your quilt and pillow. Have fun on your trip.

Boys won last night 6/2. Game was tied at 2/2 until the bottom of the last inning when their opponents pitching fell apart. Raining now so AM games are cancelled and pool winners decided by 2 game record for 2 pools. Remaining pools resume play this afternoon when weather is supposed to be better. Grandson's team plays at 12:15. I am seriously thinking of putting my long johns on. :old
