Well, I am glad you asked!

I had thought I remembered that a few had made it into Maine, but I misremembered!

Most, especially the early ones, are buried in various places in Massachusetts. A few made it into Vermont... but none as far as Maine. A few went a bit more south in New York. But then the ones from whom I am descended joined the rush to the Ohio valley ... and from there to Chigaco... then down to Texas... where they met my Dad's side, all of whom went right to Texas and never settled anywhere else.

So, no where close to Bangor Maine!

Maine was a part of Mass until 1820... so maybe?

Any make it to Putney? I have dead people in Putney. Let's see:
Maternal grandfather's maternal grandmother's paternal grand parents: Captain Amos Joy and his wife Rachel are buried there in the Dipping Hole Cemetery. Not sure why they aren't in the Joy cemetery, different branch of the family maybe? They "removed" from Rehoboth, MA. I THINK their son Francis Fletcher Joy came with them, not born in Putney but I would have to check. The maternal grandmother's brother was born in Putney but the family moved (MAYBE to Ohio??) 2 years before she was born in ... um ... 1808 maybe?

Oohh, would you like to come and fix Captain Amos' headstone? Rachel's is OK, but his is broken. I went to find the cemetery a few years ago. Got to about the right place but wasn't sure so I pulled into a farm that was nearby. Turns out he was the person that tends the town's cemeteries, though only once a year. And yep I WAS supposed to go up what looked like a logging road across from his driveway. I went up a ways and parked, walked the rest of the way.

Mine are listed as burried in "old north burying ground" in Putney.

Died 1787 for James Snow my 6th great grandfather.

Davenport is actually my step-mother(with 6 greats added).. died 1819 and buried in the same cemetery as her husband.

I looked in mine, nope, we are not related... mine has no Joy.
