Nuttiest name in my family tree? William Raspberry....like WHAT were they thinking?

Only reason I know so much about my dad's side that we descended from is back in 1976 someone must have been really bored or really interested and researched our genealogy in America and printed two books with stories and a family tree, of which I'm probably closer related to you all than I am to the massive 374 yrs now of branches in that tree, Lol .
My many great, great's grandfather, originally bought twenty-five morgens of farm land in New Netherlands before he moved north into the woods and lived amongst the 'natives'.
His original plot of fifty acres is said to have been bought by 'Claes Martensen van Rosenvelt, the ancestor of the Roosevelt family, He is said to have been the direct ancestor of Theodore Roosevelt who was born less than a half-mile distant'.

Only after the 14th Amendment to the Constitution - July 9, 1868

Penny is a citizen then! She was born in 1960

yup but back then many came in off ship's like he did and did good honest work

There were other places they came in but, most thought it was called Ellis Island. According to my sister who, did some digging. My grandfather's family was wiped out in the Holocaust. My grandmother knew some famous female opera singer way back but, can't remember who.

See my side there in Germany we know about them still have relatives there or the kids of of them now are my age we all got old

Growing old is much better than having life snuffed out prematurely.

One person I knew way,way back said he never wanted to be old. He got his wish, he died in his forties of AIDS. Used to be a great dog handler, his partner died the year before.
