The Old Folks Home

Raining and cool but still fall pretty out. Heading to a Halloween party tonight, got my 20's Flapper costume ready but still have to figure out hair and makeup. Some of the costumes at the bar last night last night were great!
My BF is not a costume kind of guy, so I made this for him to wear

High of 78 expected here today with temps in the low 80s for the next 3 days. Night temps in the high 50s/low 60s. lots of blue sky with light breezes. About the most perfect weather a person could ask for. Still a lot of morning humidity from the almost 3 weeks of off/on rain, so it takes a bit for everything to "dry out", but after that, it's a pleasure to be outside. :clap:love:cool:
Our weather is similar this week. Time to get setup for the rain season

Dh has been sent home sick, twice. Dd went to her doctor yesterday. Yes, she's got strep throat, among other things, and no she didn't have a high fever. They did the throat swab, and tested her for it. The test was positive. I'm going to start using a little bleach in the dishwater.
The dishwasher I bought last year has a sanitation cycle. When the cycle is over, it says sanitized on the display.

Love the shirt just my style

Very cute idea!! Love that shirt.

Going to get snow here again today.

Our rain has abated for a day we have sun but just 50 outside

I had a Halloween t-shirt that said 'THIS IS MY COSTUME!'

Well, yeah, @bruceha2000 he's an eye doctor so he's seen it before and knows how bad it can be. Told me once he'd seen a guy who bent over and impaled his eye on a piece of rebar that was sticking up out of the ground and blended in with the background. Accidents happen. He took very good care of my eye for me and today it feels 100% better. Enough that I felt like putting on eye makeup this morning.

My eye doctor is my Doctor Honey!

So glad you are all better!

So am I, Cap. Thanks. Hope you are healing well and getting your strength back.
I slept so much yesterday i was dehydrated this morning. Drinking lots. I went to feed the guineas in the hoop coop and there was a guinea without a head! Right in the corner. I guess it was sleeping on the corner, the coon pulled the tarp aside and grabbed its head. I put hardware cloth along the bottom foot, but i must have not secured the end well.
Any way, later in the day i was collecting quail eggs and the male flew out. I didn't see my net handy so i started following him. He ended up running into the hoop coop and hid in the same corner where the guinea died! What are the odds?

YIKES! Sorry about the Guinea. Never understood why the silly things like to sleep with their heads next to a fence for a raccoon to just prey upon. I told DH the other day that we should all thank God that we are descended from mammals instead of avian species because we got the better brains of the two.

Our neighbor had a bunch of juveniles in a grow out pen on the ground and couldn't understand why raccoons were beheading them.Night after night. It's like, ummm, dude! Put some hardware cloth around that pen or get them off the ground! Better yet, shoot the coon which he eventually did.

Sounds like you need to do the same hunt and eradicate that nasty animal. Or put out a trap. Ricky Raccoon needs to go! Pronto!

I have been trying to trap this coon for quite a while. It is very smart. I have decided to use marshmallows wired to the live trap trigger. It has been inside the trap but has not been trapped yet.
