The Old Folks Home

SCG I am SO GLAD you did this for yourself. You deserve it and will make good use of it. :hugs

Me too, Bruce. I might not have a generator, but I do quilt more times a year than I lose power...

I suck at it right now (I played for about 15 minutes) but my plans to do whatever it was I needed to do on this vacation are over. I'm sewing!

It is Sad! Dad had MS starting when I was 8, in 1968. He had the progressive type and became Wheel chair bound in the 1980s. He passed away in 2001 from congestive heart failure. That is a very common cause of death for MS patients
I had an uncle with MS, but he was not a blood relative.

Good point @bruceha2000. I had a doberman pinscher once, a huge blue, just a sweetheart of a dog. His tail had been docked as per normal with them but when we had taken him into the vet for a round of shots and mentioned doing Aramis's ears, the vet looked at us and said, you mean you can make him more beautiful than God already did? Urp......Needless to say, Ari kept his big floppy hound dog ears. Kept people from reacting to him with that 'OH MY GOD IT'S A DOBERMAN! HIDE THE CHILDREN!' mentality.

Spent much of the day house cleaning. The local rural trash pick up company raised their fees to 125$ a quarter. When we started pick up 4 years ago it was 78$. I told DH that if they were going to charge us an arm and a leg for pick up, we were going to get our money's worth out of them. Which means I've been doing sorting and pitching. I'll probably pay for it tomorrow. I overdid it yesterday and have been one big ache today so tomorrow should be memorable. Hopefully the MTX will kick in tomorrow.....I hope.
I cleaned out half the barn today, lots of feed bags and boxes to chuck out. Got the frame for a shelf unit made. I need storage for my animal stuff.

Amazing how just the shape of a pair of ears can change the entire complexion of a dog. Long floppy ears = cute and lovable, straight up pointed ears = attack dog <SMH>

It hath been done.

Congrats! I'm assuming that's the long arm sewing machine you've been lusting after. Hope you got a great deal on it and that it's everything you've been wishing for in a long arm machine. Sure looks impressive to a non sewer/quilter...
