Merry Christmas to all!

Made it through dinner. DH is sick. I am still still sick. Temp 100.4 looks like we are fighting the flu.

He is holding the bed down I am keeping the sofa from floating away. Fa la la la la.......

On a positive note I'm not coughing as much today. About to brew some tumeric and ginger tea.

Oh well there is always next Christmas.

Dear God I swear I will wear masks from this point on whenever I have to be around thoughtless idiot contagious people!

Hope y'all got everything you wished for. My favorites are my compact quilting hoop and stand and the funny mug DH also got for me that says "I Was Normal 2 Dozen Chickens Ago!"
i sure hope you feel better soon altho i know right now you think you probably wish you could go ahead and die and get it over with, feel better soon, you and your husband:fl:fl

Thanks Ron and Sharron. Just got an email from my brother in IL. They are all sick also. No connection there since I haven't seen him since 2007....long story. So I guess it is making it's rounds.

On a brighter note. I seem to be getting my voice back but now I'm sneezing my head off and blowing my nose every 5 minutes.

C'mon God! I promised!:hit

My poor chooks are going to have to wait till tomorrow. Maybe a big bowl of oatmeal made with meat broth with a Cornish hen carcass thrown in for good measure. They have been good this year and only 6 have died. For my flock that is next to perfect!

Think you know pretty well there @drumstick diva what can make cookie blues go away here is a recipe just for you simple but yummy not a ton of work used a small cookie scoop to make the balls melted andes mints in the chips first time oh yum takes like 4 minutes with a mixer
Classic Buckeye

  • 1/2 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Cups Confectioner's Sugar, Or More As Needed
  • Melt these together
  • 2 Cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Shortening
Instructions
  1. Add peanut butter, softened butter, vanilla, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Using a hand-held electric mixer, cream together ingredients well blended.
  2. Gradually mix in confectioners sugar, beating until well combined.
  3. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Place in the freezer for 60 minutes.
  4. In a microwave safe bowl melt the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening on high for 45 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir vigorously. If needed, microwave at 15-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until mixture is melted.
  5. Remove peanut butter balls from freezer. Insert a toothpick in the top center of a peanut butter ball and dip 3/4 of the ball, into melted chocolate, leaving the top without chocolate. allow excess chocolate to drip. Place back on the baking tray.
  6. Remove the toothpick and smooth out the hole with a small offset spatula or your fingertip.
  7. Allow chocolate to set before serving. Buckeye's can be served at room temperature or cold. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.

@penny1960, I can't speak for everyone but personally if I see another Christmas cookie before next December, it'll be too soon.

I'm cookied out.
We had A christmas cookie drought here! We had cinnamon rolls, angel food cake, pumpkin pie and chocolate cake instead
