The Old Folks Home

@bobbi-j , wait until they are both over 50. :he Have a good visit.
Fortunately that will be a while yet.
I don't know bobbi, 2 kids 30 or over AND grandkids? Sounds like you ARE old enough :lau

Dad figured he was old when his firstborn hit 50, I told him he wouldn't be old until the youngest hit 50. Of course that happened 11.5 years ago. Dad turned 90 last October.
I think I’ll wait to be old when my youngest hits 50 or maybe 60 - we’ll see. I have 23 years to figure it out. An older lady in my church says, “Old is always 10 years older than however old you are.”

Um, did those people move in 6 months ago or something? No 'local' would ever think winter is over just because there was one warm day. Here we call that "the January thaw". Then it gets REALLY cold for another month or so.
No joke. They were telling me that at the local MFA saying they had people tell them that the worst of winter was over. Probably same folks who read the old farmers almanac which said we were going to have a mild winter. . I read the new farmers almanac which was going by the solar forecast which says we are in a solar minimum without many sun spots which generally means colder, harsher winters.

I think I posted that Dd #1 moved in with us, so she can go back to college. She's taking a 4 year nursing course, but when she graduates, will qualify as an RN. Today, she started her class in labs. They're teaching her to use a microscope. Not this last Christmas, but the one before, I bought a really nice microscope for my grandson. Tonight she prepared slides of various things, and we got to see them. Later, I showed her that it had the phone adapter, so instead of viewing through the lenses, she could attach her cell phone, and everything would show up on the cell phone screen. In addition, she can use the phone to take photos, and videos of her specimens. It made for an interesting evening.

Cool! I want to come to your house and play!

Didn't you just imply how quickly he reached thirty? It won't be any slower getting to 50! 2/3rds the time actually... Matter of fact, I expect when he gets there, it will seem like just yesterday you were discussing him being 30! :hmm Time, in general, is fourth or fifth dimensional stuff... It's fast and slow at the same time and moves differently for each individual person. Even if they are standing right next to each other :idunno:bow

Diva, we all expect and hope that you are indeed around for your son's 50th. Is there some unrevealed reason why you expect you won't be? You seem pretty lively here, to me, despite all the napping and such.

Micro, good luck with your upcoming test. As long as you don't need to go ... --- ... during it, you should be fine ;)

Bruce, glad that now you'll be able to visit your M-I-L more often. I hope you all enjoy your (standard issue) food that wasn't quite right when DD1 was along.

SCG, my weekend plans are to enjoy the best football weekend of the year; the divisional round of the playoffs. 4 games, the 8 best teams, 2 days with 2 games each day. Sorry this coming weekend isn't all that thrilling for you, but glad you have a great weekend coming up the one after! Looking fwd to the reveal! :caf:pop

My first New Year bonus arrived today. Twin doelings :love

First time I tried to upload, it said failure and that I needed to be signed in to do that... WTH? I WAS signed in or I wouldn't have been able to do everything before the picture. :rant:barnie:he Luckily I was able to copy the above work before signing back in, then paste it to a new window here. This has happened to me several times over the past week or so. Has anyone else had this issue? Getting signed out 1/2 way through doing something?
