The Old Folks Home

Oh, boy. I have pretty bad CRS right now (pun intended, too). Do you have IBS with constipation? Suspected and being confirmed?

Linzess isn't a bowel prep for a colonoscopy, but I'm not sure what the question is. Have you tried fiber (capsules, tablets or powder) and polyethylene glycol (miralax) as well as lactulose? How often are the symptoms happening?
I got no help figuring it out 30+ years ago, but it is IBS with constipation as far as i am concerned. They did a study where i swallowed markers and said i have slow transit time. There was one drug many years ago that helped some but they took it off the market.
I just happen to be drinking colon prep stuff tonight.

I have tried fiber, veggies, and really hate Miralax. I am constantly constipated unless i take laxatives, then i get cramps and diarrhea. I am totally sick of it.

Ron, I didn't even know that drug existed.

Cap, maybe give lactulose a try? Then if not, probably one of the newer agents that we were discussing earlier. How long ago did you try that med that was pulled off the market? In 2007 Zelnorm was pulled off the market. Propulsid was another years ago, maybe early 90s?

I think Zelnorm . Never had Propulsid.

Congratulations on the new ducklettes, @Beer can. Set the tub next to Cornish crosses and the ducklettes win our every time!

@CapricornFarm, so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well yet. I'm in the same boat you are in. Tried just about everything. Finally talked to the doc and told him I always got an upset stomach with the 'saline' softeners and fibers. He said drink more liquid. I told him I drink about two liters a day, he said, drink more. Now I do and sure enough, it helps. I try to drink 8 ounces if I use Miralax or MOM and then a half hour later, another glass. If you seem to get your whole system upset when you use them you might try that and see if it helps.

Heard a red winged blackbird tonight and saw a big flock of geese flying due north and at high altitude. Didn't see the robin that was hanging around last night. Rain here for the next 4 days but thank God, the last of the snow residue is gone. My seeds are started, now waiting for things to dry out a bit so I can get to work spring cleaning the coops and rearranging the runs. I have the feeling I'm in for a bit of a wait. Rain for the next three days.

Okay, so @ronott1, I need to let the meat rest for at least two days? I was close, about a day and a half. Thanks for the input guys.

Thanks for the tip, but I drink loads of water every day all day.

Still in the 40's most days, about 10 degrees cooler than what it is normally. I do have a lot of tulips coming up!
It hit 43 today. It's a start, but it's going to be a while before we see anything green. Lots of snow to melt. We are forecast to get rain tomorrow, so that should help.
Told DW who hates the chickens to stop at TSC and get a bag of feed, I hate asking her to do that cause she complains how much they cost...
Note to self 'don't let dw go to TSC ever again...'

They actually gave her seven, three pekins and four mallards, $6, great...

@CapricornFarm - Beautiful! I'll admire your color while I'm waiting for all the white to go away here.

It is rested until the rigor is gone. It can be faster or slower depending on the animal. It might be fine in a day and a half or it could take three days. You can tell rigor by moving the leg.
